ok i got a question i'd like a general consescious on folks;

say that on your list you had 2 ponys who were the same thing pretty much, just with a color varation. would you be ok with getting a mommy that had elements from BOTH the babys, thus making the two babys "fraturnal twins". it'd still be the same breed, and you could still very easily identify who it was, it's just that it'd have a slightly different color scheme that didn't match either baby exactly.

I know what she means. I can try to explain.

Sandcastle and Shovels & Doodles and Noodles are examples of fraternal twins in the MLP world. The only difference with what LLB wants to do is that these two ponies are not technically related.

So would people be OK with, say...

A green Mommy Sandcastle/Shovels (think I'd be inclined to call her Mommy Pail, but that's not a very good name) since the babies are orange and blue?

Or...

A purple Mommy Doodles/Noodles since the twins are pink and blue?

I was having the same thoughts for mine. But I thought maybe have the color of the baby on the list as the main color for hair/body and then having the other one's color in the hair/on the body somewhere

I'm stuck at the moment waiting on my bait to "set". I am hoping I have enough hair to rehair her once I'm ready, and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and order more hair now just in case.

My mommy is all painted, waiting for my hair now.

I have the bait and hair, and have pained the eyes, and about half the symbols are finished. I should be done in the next few days, depending on what's on TV, lol!

(I usually do customs while watching TV)

Oh, I haven't even started yet :p I should be getting a bait within the next few days so I can get the body done, but I've only just put a hair order in, so I'll have to wait on that.

I got the bait and dyed her up. Now I need the hair and hopefully the dye set well. She's actually a bit dark so I'm hoping it will lighten up a bit. But if it fails completely I do have a back up!

lev, if you give her an acetone rubdown it'll remove some of the topmost dye and lighten her up a smidge if that helps any. i sorta fail at dying so my advice might not bde that sound, but i've done it before and it's worked a bit.

i'm finished with mine :lol: now the trick is not to misplace her in the mess i call my corner of the house XD;;;

Wow, so I totally forgot about an acetone rub down. It's been a while since I've dyed a pony and I usually do this. Show's how much my head is in the game. Life has been so distracting lately! Thanks for the reminder LLB! :sunny:

I'll have to rub her down tomorrow, though the color is closer than I thought it would be. Now I'm just waiting on the hair to arrive and for the dye to set. I give it about a week or so, that way I don't get any bleeding into the paint.

I'm so eager to work on this custom though. I'll have to putz with another custom so I don't get ahead of myself!

Got my hair in the mail today, will be rerooting this weekend sometime.

I have my bait. I had never really liked her pose before, but since she's sitting headless on my counter she's starting to grow on me. I am waiting on my first ever order from Dollyhair (kind of nervous and excited at the same time about that). I got two awesome new brushes for eyes and details, b/c the ones I had in the jumbo multipack didn't give me as much control over small details as I liked. I'm planning to go to Michaels tomorrow to pick out pearly purple paint. This is pretty fun. . .(laughs nervously). . .

I need a new brush desperately! I've been using the same red sable detail brush for over two years, and it's starting to die on me. I got it at Michaels, but they changed all their brushes. Nothing that I've bought to replace it has even come close to comparing. I'll have to check the hobby shop this week.

I have my bait and hair. I haven't started yet. I have to finish another swap custom first, but it gave me issues. So I'm starting over.

For details I dont use a brush. I dip the tip of a pencil into the paint and little bit by little bit do the details. I dont have to worry about the bristles on the brush messing up my lines.

I have a bunch of old porcupine quills for really tiny details. But I like to use pencil tips as well, or tooth picks and just kinda dot the paint on. I'm so anxious for my hair to come (that's a weird sentence) I can't wait to get to hairing my mommy and painting her up!
