Congrats Tula. My sister in law had a baby girl on the 7th of December. I feel very sheepish but I haven't seen the baby yet. I just keep thinking she must be very tired and she had an C-section. So I dont want to bother her. She already had my MIL and FIL see her or her parents and my kid.

really tired today.

My mothers Chicken Rosie Pass away this morning. We don't know what happen. She was just in her nest not moving. Poor girl I think pass to the next place in her sleep. We bury her next to my chicken Scarlet. RIP little girl thanks for the eggs and the cute waddly walk you did.

Ugh I gotta start wrapping this weekend or something. Christmas holidays puts me in a state of panic and I can barely get any sleep the night before.

My best friend has three kids. The first Christmas that two of them were old enough for Christmas she brought all the gifts over and we wrapped for 4 hours. She left. After that she said, "no more wrapping." So, what she did was she put all the kids gifts in a different special container that she wrapped each year with their name on it. Sometimes it was a mega huge box with a bow, other years it might be a laundry bag or basket, just whatever fit the year. She said that the wrapping was impossible. The kids loved it. They got to dig around in there and pull stuff out and start playing and eventually they were sitting inside their box with their toys. This year all of the kids are past the little kid stage and they are just getting money. She is tired of shopping and ready to give this whole thing up. Their tastes have gotten through the roof expensive and she figures they will learn real quick the value of a dollar if they have to spend all their money on one thing. She is an excellent mom.
I wrap, my husband uses those printed gift boxes you buy at the store, a pillow case or a sack. Not too many people I know are going to the wrapping trouble. Plus that paper can be so pricey unless you are like me and get it after Christmas.

When I was a child my mother did not wrap my Christmas gifts really. She set everything out under the tree and it was the most magical amazing thing ever. I would have maybe 4 wrapped things but for the most part she just left everything unwrapped and ready for me to open and play. My grandmother did that for her so it is family tradition. We do stocking stuffers of which we buy everything that one needs from the dollar store. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, fun stuff and pack it in the stocking unwrapped. That bunch of stocking stuff lasts at least half a year to a whole year and we would buy it anyway.

When I went to my bio dads for Christmas they did not wrap gifts either. They put all of my gifts under a towel under the tree.

I guess my mother was tired from all the work she went to display everything like a dream, but not as tired as she would have been trying to wrap toys. My R2 could care less if a toy is wrapped or a anything being wrapped.

@Ology Sorry about the Chickie. That is very sad. Sniff

@tulagirl I am the one who get rope into wrapping gift for most of our family. However I always get the warning Tone down the tape. I am so OCD about how the packages look and the paper staying on I tend to use a lot of tape. My niece could not open her doll last year I got her and my dad had to cut it open. I think I used way to much on her gifts. This year I am going a bit easier on the younger kids gifts. For my dirty Santa game gift which we play at my aunts and at our family get together they are not so lucky. Its more for the laughts then anything with that. I am a little naught at Christmas but Santa still bring me gifts lol.

When I was little Santa had to wrap my presents. For a few year he did not and I finally had to ask my mom who took my letter to him to please ask Santa to wrap them for me. I Really Really like to open presents. So from then on all my present beside my stocking stuff or really big stuff was wrapped.

Sounds like you had a great Christmas holiday Tula. I'm so jealous. This year nobody in my family is giving us gifts so its just mainly for my child and that is it. Or the kids of the family. That is why I do the holiday swap every year so at least I have one special present that I can open.

Awwwww sniff, no one gives me gifts but R2 usually. My family no longer is able due to illness and stuff. My friends don't think of it really. That story happened a long time ago. Things were very different for all of us then. R2's family is ill too. You get to these weird places in life. Sigh

I feel bad for my folks because they don't have my dad's mom anymore in their life she passed away this year. :/ So it will be a tough chirstmas and I never get to visit them during the holidays its always I am stuck up here. :( Dealing with my in-laws. I agree life is weird.

I think not getting a lot of gift comes with age. We get new PJ and new fuzzy socks me and my sister. But mostly all the "gift" Gift" is for the little kids. I hate to sound strange but it so hard to watch them. Its not that I want so much the gift and I want want want stuff. I am more jealous I am not that age again I guess. I hate being as old as I am especially this time a year.
When your a kid forever trap in an adult body holiday are just hard to watch. Beside all that my neice and cousin have there grandparents and great aunts and uncles. Mine are gone.

I had to put the Morning dove which are dove that are from the wreath of flower that are from when a family member dies. You take a dove and keep it. At Christmas the dove goes on the top near the star or the angel. This year I had to do it. I had to add my great last great aunt on my dad side dove to our tree. It so sad to see so many doves up there.

As I put them up I can name each dove and whose wreath they came from with out looking at there tag.
My dad ask me how do you do that. I said" Some of us Remember Death better then life" It sad but true. I remember people death dates and when tragic events happen more then I do birthday and happy events.

The house is decorated, the tree is up and presents are under them.

I never realized how much of a pain it was to fix 8-track tapes until I fixed nine of them, some at least fore of them had to be completely retreaded and all of them had to be taped back together after being pried apart.
