If they were planning to discontinue the line, I very seriously doubt they'd let a consumer know, particularly a) during the 25th annversary; b) during toyfair. I also don't know that a consumer rep would even know for sure. I still think the line is being closed off and/or recentered. Single pony lines are going to come to a screeching halt, I think.

But, it was really sweet of you to call, and I hope that what they told you is right!

i totally agree, i think they'd say it wouldnt be ending as well, just to keep consumers from being discouraged and upset and quit buying their products early. they want to keep their products to continue being sold as long as possible.

i thought MLPs were still selling really well for hasbro? why would they cancel them all of a sudden, especially since they've been releasing so many new ponies the last few months?

All the stores in my area are almost always bare. I never found the valentine ponies so they are selling around here.

I'm not really up to date 100% on the G3 line, but I do know the Toy Fair is only a little sneak peak of what is to come for an entire year. Just because they don't show us a lot, doesn't mean the line is canceling.

if they do decide to end the line I won't really be that sad. I've never been a fan of the new ponies and at least they're releasing those six gals. I started bouncing in my chair when I saw the picture of them and my boyfriend (who always says he'll never buy me pony things) says I can have them when they are out.

I also showed the pictures to my husband last night who said they were UGLY! I told him he doesn't get any dinner. :D :D

Just to confirm after speaking with Hasbro Australia, there are no plans to end the line.

MLP Is very strong for Hasbro...

My thoughts are that toy fair only show a small selection of whats to come. I still have toy fair pics from other years... and much more was released than was ever in those pics......

SS:)

*CRIES* THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO US!!! :D :D

*hugs SS!*

i think the concern is not so much the size of the display, but the total lack of regular G3 ponies. obviously the ponyville sets will continue in full force, if that's just a sampling of what they have planned, but it's worrisome that there's no sampling of the regular pony line. no unicorns, pegs, babies, dress-up ponies, breezies, nothing.

however, i have faith that if hasbro is telling us G3 is going strong, then they're either saving the second display for later in the week (and this is just to promote the 25th anniversary specifically) or they want to keep it all a surprise.

If you think of it as Hasbro has many other toy lines and they have to represent them all. Tradeshow space is expensive, or at least it was when I worked in Chicago...they charge you for everything. They probably had to pick what is actually "NEW" to their productline, not just the same old G3's. They have to get the stores to pick all of it up. I know everytime we go to the store we have to stop by the pony isle and LPS (and Disney Cars) to see what is new, so my 6-year old is probably going to keep wanting them and I'm going to keep buying them.

G1 ponies, Aieeee!!!!!!! I am so thrilled, and I love the way they look. Their different colors make them look like variants. Hopefully they;ll stay that way otherwise if they look just like the originals it will be almost pointless (for me anyway) to buy them. I'm so happy! I am definately getting them. Yay Hasbro! (been a long time since I've said that one, LOL) I had heard people mention it for years but I always thought it was a rumor.

Think they're flat foot?

Also, I thought hasbro didn't have the original molds?

~~edit eep that sing n dance pinkie pie is absolutely frightening!

Thats what I mean though. Just because there is lack of regular G3s, doesn't mean the line is being canceled.

Although comparing older Toy Fair pictures to this year, there really IS a lack of everything being displayed. But maybe Hasbro really does want to surprise everyone since it's the 25th anniversary.

maybe the other gimmick for the 25th anniversary is that they're going to give us all REAL PONIES! 8D 8D 8D

You mean like...walk-around-and-eat-stuff real ponies?

Looking back at the previous Toy Fair pictures, I'm beginning to feel like things will be fine. I can't wait to see what comes out this year ^_^

someone already did (they made G1 minty i believe), i just dunno where to find the pic.

Well at the UK convention, the rep we had there told us that pony's are still a very strong line for hasbro. They also mentioned doing something very special for the 25th anniversary. Now I don't know if that was the release of the collctor six as the rep said that it would be a development in the line so unless they're bringing more G1's back that doesn't seem to make sense.

Looking at the previous years' toy fair photos, I can see why everyone was upset. There was a lot more showcased in past years, including clothing and a lot of individual ponies. I suppose Hasbro wasn't ready? Well, when the McDonald's ponies come out next Friday, we'll see about what Hasbro will focus more on- minis or regulars. *Crosses fingers and hopes for regulars.* <-- Is not a fan of the ponyville sets.
