Looked more closely at the pics. Why do hI have a big lump in my chest "saying the 25th Ann. is the end." I mean the Ponyville sets are cute. But I like th regular ponies better. The sitting pony doesn't really I have a pretty pose like Bubbles & Seashell. *Crosses fingers* Hopefully they'll have more new ponies instead of releases.

Didn't they end the G1 line at the 10th birthday celebration?...man, what a downer this has turned out to be...

well there still might be a possibility of more pony pics this weekend. my hubby collects marvel legends, which hasbro is making and hasbro is refusing to show the marvel legends toys until this weekend for some reason, so he suggested that maybe they'll show more ponies this weekend. *crosses fingers*

 You people are depressing me. I didn't even THINK about this while looking at their lack of showcase. I really hope that's not the case. And I haven't even HEARD of or seen any news of an Easter Basket this year. I hope it's not over yet. *sigh*

Maybe just maybe they are saving some things for a surprise.....being as this is the 25th annv. maybe they are going for the "jump out of the cake effect" you know something you arent expecting. Or maybe they are trying to keep things on the low down. I refuse to believe that this is the end. But then again I could start focusing back on G1s....no this is not the end!?!?!

I am dissapointed too but crossing my fingers.

This is a little off topic but do you think they are going to be making a regular sized cheerilee?? They made rarity, whistle wishes and brights brightly but no cheerilee....hmmm.

And does that ice cream truck thing look like it is a regular pony size or a bigger pony size?

Oh, you guys really have me thinking now......surely this can't be the end?!?!!!! That would be too much for me to take!!! :( I hadn't thought about it until everyone mentioned the "lack of" new ponies at the fair. It is something to think about........

we haven't seen a spring basket, but there have been easter baskets (as in the ones with plushies on the side) and easter ponies. :3

I can't see how anyone could think that G3 sales aren't doing very well.... you've only gotta go and peruse the brag section at the Arena to see that everyone and their mother has snapped up every new release as soon as they see em in shops. If thats bad sales......

That's collectors, though, which statistically would be a tiny portion of total sales goals. I don't think they've been selling well in general, to children. I still think the nasty box hair and generic symbol / name combinations are holding them WAYYYY back... what parent would buy their child a pony that a) looks repulsive as soon as you pull it out of the box, let alone play with it for a week; and b) looks exactly like the pony she bought LAST year that her child didn't play with.
I just have a feeling Hasbro may have missed the mark on maintaining their market presence, and I think they've realized it now and are pulling the plug, if perhaps slowly by shifting focus to Ponyville.

hey you're right. It does look like the sitting pony has movable legs. How depressing.

This is making me sick. It can't be the end.. it just can't..

But reflecting on all that's been said.. although I hate to even think about it, it could be true.
The names are becoming rehashed and repetitive.
The overall designs are becoming rather lifeless.
And the gimmicks..

My lord, the gimmicks.

It's a sad dawning, but I too have a bad feeling about it all.
How depressing..

Look on the bright side, no company in their right mind would drop a toy on its 25th anniversary, theres money to be made right there..... so we have one more year of it at least.

Lets face it.... so many people are complaining of gimmicky names and repetitive colour schemes.... how many more years can we take of that pattern anyway? If boys/seaponies/mermaids etc aren't released in the G3 line, what way forward is there? I can't ever see black ponies happening.

well come to think about it ending, it kinda makes ya think. at the end of the g1 releases, they really didnt release much either. their 10 anniversary was the birthday pony.

i hope it isnt ending though...

Exactly. If you think about it, everything ends. We can't expect it to go on forever; eventually Hasbro will be out of ideas, and there will be no other choice but to end somewhere.

We don't even have a new theme for 2007, just more Crystal Princess ponies.

I wish Hasbro would open up a little more.. sea ponies, boys, more babies.. black ponies, sitting ponies.. another MO program maybe, or even designs based on real horses..

I think it's time for a change. Something different.

And by that I don't mean 'Ponyville' ponies.
I mean real My Little Ponies.

I was just thinking (hopeful thinking) that if they were going to drop the line or taper off and do a lot more ponyville only, wouldn't they have released a DVD with them in it instead of the one they just released? I just watched the new DVD today, so maybe it's just me.......what do you think? It was just a thought on my part.

Well technically, most of the ponies in the DVD's are also in the Ponyville sets...a clever move to use the same DVD's to market two different lines! Of course the DVD contains the new ponies that have come out so far this year, but...that's to sell this year's ponies. It's hard to say what will happen next...but Angelberries is right, we still have this year at least!

but ya know i was thinking, that new ponyville 6 pack, shown by bills toys, has a new pony in it that hasnt been released, so this could go either way, maybe it's a sign that more new ponies are coming out and maybe it's a sign that they are only going to do ponyville ponies and no more big ponies?

I was worried for awhile they'd end MLPs cuz I was really pessimistic about where Hasbro was going and looking at the larger picture. A lot of you are saying things like I was saying like there needs to be variety, which is true of course.

Right now I am not too worried about it though. Cuz they are coming out with the McD MLP toys soon, I wouldn't think they'd do that if it's not popular. And as far as I can tell sales are doing fine, shelves are empty and ebay seems strong. I saw some MLP commercial just last weekend. Kids seem to like them.
