It's going back to Vegas Baby! I'm a little sad that it's so far west, the drive here nearly killed me:p But they said it's going to be the permant home to the fair for the next four years.

Sorry if this has been posted before but thought ya'll would like to know if it hasn't!

OMG - that's awesome! I'll be there next year, definitely!! :)

oh yay! Vegas. I can do that! i go at least once a year to there for a piercing convention, so i can definitely make a point of going to a pony one!!! that's amazing news!!!

Hi

I have never been but didnt people say that was the most expensive place to stay for hotels, food and all that stuff?

Plus i thought the whole point of the fair was to move around the us to give everyone a chance at going?

when we stay in Vegas, we've been able to get hotel rooms for like $60 a night. Check out the rooms at Circus Circus, it's a dive of a hotel at first glance, but the rooms up there are actually really decent. New York New York was really nice and it was maybe $80 a night there?? you definitely can find more expensive ones though. I think the Winn cost us like $700 a night! and the rooms are nice, but no one needs to spend that much on hotel in a city like Vegas when you will NEVER be in your room.

just out of curiosity, where was the fair usually held in Vegas? at one of the hotels? would it have been the Riviera convention halls? if so, Drusilla, Circus Circus is right across the street.

Hi

I wouldent know i have never went to a fair yet. One day i may just get to one.

Has anyone ever thought of a canadian version?

:smiley_duck:

Oh my gosh...I was so excited to hear about Vegas that I just stood up and did a TWIRL!! I've been wanting to go back to Vegas SO badly and now I have an excuse! 'Cept next summer we're doing Orlando, so I might not be able to make it for '09, but we'll see. Thanks for the info!

i don't think so. i don't know why though. it seems that there is fairs and ponycons in every other place but here.

Vegas rocks! That is such a cool place for the convention. So many hotels and great restaurants. Endless things to do.

Fair staff chose really well there. That will be so much fun for anyone going.

HOly cow you go to the piercing convention! Have you ever met Chris Steele and Sean Raynes? They're my buddies, I used to work with Chris's wife. Yeah 1,000s of people at a convention but you never know. :p

Yeah, and if you're willing to stay somewhere off the strip, the South Point hotel & casino is a really good deal. It's not far from the strip (plus, it runs a free shuttle to the strip), it has good prices ($69 a night when we stayed) and the rooms are really nice!! I prefer staying there, because it's a bit quieter.

That is awesome news!!! Is that set in stone? Or just a rumor?

Flights to Vegas are $99.00 from my local airport. :D

Edit:
Plus, that means GAMBLING!!! Yay!! Which means a fun distraction for my boyfriend in and of itself. ;)

Thanks for letting us know Katie....

Back to Vegas? for 4 more in a row?

Did they say why its going to have a permanent home there instead of rotating to different US Cities?

Yep that's right. They said it really has to do with the cost of the convention. This one really burned a hole in the wallet which I can understand why. Plus it's easy to fly in and out of. I'll definetly make it to one since the fiance was super excited but I think this will be the start of a 4 year dry spell for my selling there:( There's no way I'm driving that more that once if my car can make it that far. It's really a big bummer to me but I don't blame them for trying to find a more cost effective place. I'm just sad it's going to be in the same place for 4 years. That's a bit much:( I problaby won't make more than one or 2 max now.

I am totally up for a Canadian Pony Fair!!!!!!!!!!!! Niagara Falls would be awesome for this!!!
