I'll start:
There's no such thing as a mane six or seven at any point of G3.
I may have three Sweetie Belles, four Star Songs, two Mintys and three Cheerilees. But I also have TEN Pinkie Pies and FIFTEEN Rainbow Dashes.
(And it didn't just come down to me loving these two. Like, yes I love them, but these two were in and on EVERYTHING. Every piece of merch every plush release, stying size this, playset that, everything.)
There is exactly two mane characters in G3: Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash.

MY “core eight” was and always will be Rainbow Dash, Sunny Daze, Sweetberry, Wysteria, Sparkleworks, Kimono, Minty, and Pinkie Pie. With Autumn Sky, Starswirl, and Butterscotch being bonus support, so I guess I have a Core Ten, really.

They are who I think of when I think G3 because it was the very beginning of my new love. And at the time, Sunny Daze was on EVERYTHING, lol

okay, i'll say it : minty ( g3 ) is overrated. i love her, she's adorable, buuuuuut i think she's a bit too popular ( especially when she's all that's ever used to represent g3 ) . i think skywishes should've gotten more screentime.

And why is Starsong’s wings so tiny? It’s weird. They’re nice and detailed and all but introducing that pretty wing style and making them tiny? Why Hasbro? Is she supposed to be special in some way? Or is she supposed to have some sort of Nemo fin going on?

I agree with everything you said here. Sunny Daze was my favorite out of this core 6, too. She should have had staying power.

I don't know if this counts as a hot take here, but in a lot of other spaces it sure does...

The G3 cartoon wasn't that bad. It might not have been a deeply serious show or anything like that, but as far as children's shows go, it was harmless fun.

3.5 and 4 are almost exactly alike stylistically. Short beaky muzzles, round bulbous heads, and eyeballs that take up at least 30% of the face.

I don’t think she’s ugly, but even if she wasn’t insanely expensive I wouldn’t have her in my collection her design’s just not that special I think

Agreed! The collector pose is my least favorite. They always try to fall on their noses, they don’t really look good displayed from most angles and they use it too much

My main cast included Sweetberry and Wysteria too ^_^
It was Sweetberry, Wysteria, Razzaroo, Fingerpaints and Candy Apple and then later g1 Creamsicle giraffe joined them even though she wasn’t g3 lol

I'm glad that so many people are on board with the first batch of G3's being the most iconic because I definately feel this too! I'm most attached to them! By the end of G3 I was so frustrated that Pinkie Pie took over to the point where I wasn't sure if people even remembered that Sunny Daze was the OG "face" of the G3 brand. And I missed seeing her everywhere because she is my favorite G3 next to Sew-and-Sew (yes I'm aware it's one of the bad names).
