Mutants and zombies, or mutant zombies as I call them. I do have to agree, having so many threads going around arguing over the terminology of the new line is ridiculous. We do know what each other is talking about and we'll have to come to term with the facts that there will not be just one name to sum it up (MUTANT ZOMBIES XD Sorry I just had to throw mine in for good measure). We're here to enjoy each others company because we all share a passion for these adorable vinyl ponies that we have loved for so many years, not squabble over names and what is classified as a new generation. :954:

I'm up for that! :twisted: Sounds like a good game to play at a meet, G-Fore! Not for those who enjoy the new line though. *makes note for Texas meet plans* Of course that's if I can find these boogers in thrift stores cheap when the time comes. :mrgreen:

I really think we need to just stop arguing it. Each of these threads goes the same way, for such and such pages. Then, it gets lost on page 2 or 3, and lo and behold! There's a new one started. People will call them what they want - there's not gonna be a consensus [spelling?] on it, so let's just stop arguing it guys.

i agree with ya hun. i mean, we really only needed to have one; one place where you could say it once and be done with it. at this rate we'll need anoyther sub forum called "G3 vs G4 rants" or something cause it's getting that rediculous

Sooo they're G3. Full-size Bore 7 chibified. Would that make them "Deka-chibis", with "dekai" meaning big?

Thanks hun. At the rate this is going, I agree - we are gonna need another sub-forum for this debate alone. This argument gets rather heated; someone's gonna offend a fellow member, or be rude unintentionally trying to get their view across. It's not worth it, especially when we've already had so many threads debating this.
 
I don't even see how this is a debate at all. I really don't. It's no G4 and I know I, and everyone else who has sad the same, is right. I mean like everyone else has said if a new model means a new generation then we would have been at G9001 by now.

Every generation so far has been with different ponies. Not the same. SHS, boys, DB, flutters aren't new generations. Why should this be?

I wasn't even kidding when I said just call them ugly.

No one is right Technofilly. It's a matter of opinion. It's a debate becasue there are two viewpoints being argued here. Debate doesn't mean anything bad; it's just two different views on the subject.
 
I do see both sides of the arguement, but in collecting standards, the line has to come to a complete end before a new generation begins. We could just call them the G3 chibis. We've got g3's, we've got ponyvilles, why not G3 chibis. It's easier and people still understand which generation they are from and that way you know they are talking about the mini ones. Or even better, G3 SD. SD stands for Super Deformed which is also called chibi. How does everyone like G3 SD for the new line renovation? It does fit and they are super deformed. lol.

I'll go with that! But I do have another reason: because I've run out of names for the changes in the G3 moulds, characters, and storylines, and differentiating between them is becoming simply too verbose. On my pony list, I call 2003-2007, "G3a" and 2008, "G3b" so that it takes less room on my list, so I guess I could call the 2009 ones, "G3c" if I must.

But somehow, Rainbow Dash, who was clearly considerably older than Pinkie Pie, has somehow abruptly become younger than Pinkie Pie, and the rest of the hundreds of characters have abruptly disappeared, and five completely new characters have materialised out of nowhere, each of whom Pinkie Pie has to actually talk down to when she used to be the younger pony before. I must say, if this is indeed the same storyline, Pinkie Pie is handling the sudden tragic loss of everybody she ever knew extremely well, and has wasted no time making new friends out of the surviving young ponies (as the older ponies did not survive, except Rainbow Dash, but she cheated by becoming younger) and building a history with them! And her memories of the days when Rainbow Dash was older have been altered so that she now thinks she was younger! Fortunately, Minty escaped before any of this happened! She was diagnosed with cancer, and is now living in a cancer treatment centre in a far away big pony city.

Nevermind. The 2009 pony line doesn´t exist. It´s still 2008, and I´m in bed having a nightmare. I´ll wake soon. Maybe it´s even just 2007, and core 7 and coat-hangers are just some silly thing made up by my unconsious mind to psychologically prepare me for some potential tragedy.

I'm not around the boards much but I am THRILLED to know there are others who strongly disagree with that term. As for the G3 or G4 terminology, I'm quite impressed with this "argument" thread. As I said, I don't check the boards often so this line of discussion is new to me. I was gonna call 'em G3s but I really see some very excellent points to calling them G4s as well.
