I hope that the one I am looking at now decides to. It'll be awesome being with a bunch of other pony people a the hotel.

I have requests in at 4 hotels for group rates :)
I'm pushing for a good rate at the Westin. I should know sometime tomorrow if they can accommodate my request. As soon as we have the info we will get it to you guys!

I'm hoping to have the new 08 Fair site completed this weekend and ready to go live. The site will have all the room block information for you!
 
Hmmm....I could actually drive there. I'll have to talk to the fiancee tonight and see if it's something we can do without dipping into the wedding budget.

Same here! I need to get a few more customs done, I'd like to bring at least 10 with me. I hope to hear something soon. I'm thinking about staying at the Hilton also, but it's going to be a surprise where hotwire.com is going to place us in our room. They won't tell you until you book. They just provide you with a mileage range from your hotel to yoru destination. It's a chance that I'm feeling like taking.......maybe

I think they were $40 (?)

2) Were they standard con size (6-foot) tables?

Yes.

3) Did the Fair provide you signage with your name on it?

No, it was just a bare table, and they weren't assigned, you just went in and claimed one. :)

4) Were you allowed to break down early on Sunday?

Yes, I just packed up around noon on Sunday.

We were thinking of a trip to NY city and NY state in June, and this may just have swayed it! :bliss:

I would have to travel up from NY though - I looked at Amtrak and could get a train right there from Penn to the convention centre itself! Although I know very little about the US train system and hotels etc so I will need some help from the locals if you can provide any!

If the logistics work out I'd love to attend. I'll be keeping my eye on the mlpfair site!

2) Yes, the tables were about 6' long, the standard kind of tables. 32" wide.

3) No but we did have tags (passes) with our names. The tables weren't reserved beforehand, so they were first-come, first-serve.

4) Ya, people were packing up at different times throughout the day. People were also setting up at different times throughout the first day too. There weren't any restrictions on that. I'm sure they understand some people need to get an early start home. I'll have to leave early afternoon on Sunday too.

And YAY Rainbow Magic!!! I'm so excited you may get to come! That's such a long trip, over the big fish pond :D Can't wait!

We have provided signs for vendors to write their name on in the past so it's not out of the question that we will again this year. You are always more then welcome to bring your own of course :)
Looks like most of the questions I see up have been answered.
The site is about ready for me to launch. I'm actually working on finishing up a few minor touches. We have compiled a list of hotels as well as restaurants :)
All info as well as distance from the convention center will be included on the site. I should have back all the room block information tomorrow, at least I hope with it being a holiday I might have to wait till Tuesday. There will be a slight increase on the price of the booths. I'll post as soon as I launch the site :)

You rock! Are you going to launch it tonight or can I go to bed? lol. Of course the booth prices are going up the year I possibly need 3:p
 
Well it looks like tomorrow. There are a couple of things I want to go over with Bean before I launch it and since shes NOT online I'll have to wait till morning.

I really want to go to bed but I found myself another little project working getting the Fair galleries functional again. Yay me
 
Well the wonderful Ashlyne has suggested a great hotel opportunity and the chance of a lift to the venue and I would very much like to do that - I would train up from NY on the Friday, stay over and do whatever everyone else does on the saturday night, and then train back on sunday at the end.

What I wondered is if anyone needs a hotel room buddy (in a twin of course!) to share the cost? I'd be staying Friday and Saturday night, I don't snore or sleepwalk :)

I would really love to go so if anyone wants to do this. Of course I have yet to check on flights to actually get to NY in the first place!!!!


Kar - Would be great to meet you and see your comic collection! :)

Dang! There are SOOOOO many people planning on coming this year that I'm super stoked to meet! This year is going to be so much fun!

HEAD'S UP:BabySunnybunch at the Arena noticed that there are conflicting dates on the website (mentions a couple of times that the Fair is June 22-23). I'm pretty sure that's a mistake since that would be on a Sunday and Monday, so we're just waiting for Fair organizers to get that cleared up.

Just didn't want anyone to see those dates and book flights / hotels without realizing they might be wrong.


UPDATE: The date is officially June 21-22, Saturday and Sunday. WingedFantasy is working to fix the error.
