G4! It's what go me into MLP. The show is so adorable, with loveable characters, and well-written stories. I just love it. I know the toys get a lot of criticism but I really love them. They're so cute and simple, small enough to have a lot in my tiny room!
2nd favorite is definitely G1. I didn't grow up with them, but they have a certain charm the G2s and G3s lack for me. They are so sweet and come in a great variety. No annoying fashion doll line to go with it either! G1s are very high quality too. A clean one has such soft, silky hair. The cartoons are ok. I love Sweet Stuff in the cartoons though. She is just precious.
I'm not too fond of the other gens though... Some G3 ponies look really nice though, but I just don't feel the same way about it as I do with G1 and G4.
