Winter Babies found in FL & AZ!! (Beall's. Outlet) &

im thinking I should check out some of the discount stores here in canada.. like winners or some place like that..
 
no 5 Below or C-Marts here, but we do have Tuesday Mornings. Never went in, thought they were just a housewares/gift boutique. I'll add them to my try-to-check-on-my-day-off list.

Also, what about Belk? Don't they sometimes have toys?

I know of no 'warehouse'-type stores, other than the odd lots stores that have already been mentioned.

My BIL is a regional manager for Pep Boys; his district covers peninsula FL from Kissimee north, west to Tallahassee and into coastal Georgia to Savannah. He's on the road checking stores constantly, and said he'd look for these guys for me.

Sadly I'd tend to doubt that that they will have widespread distribution, just hit Florida first. We seem to be the last place in the country (or close to) to get new items.

I have a feeling the Canadian seller is a one-shot kind of deal, selling off an extra set while the value is still high before this new rush of babies drives the value down (if that's what happens). But that would be really awesome if Canada carries them. I'm just hoping for a wider spread distribution than just one state!

I am about 100% positive of what you just said about the Canadian seller, I know who it is, and I am pretty sure the seller did not buy them in stores up here.
 
Ok I should just do more checking before I post, and wow there is a TO seller that had a ton of them up as well. Maybe they are in connection with the Florida sellers.

I agree, ChristyK, I was hoping to buy them for under $20/set. Winters are my favorites.

Won't we all feel stupid if they re-release them again this year at Meijers, though? LMAO!
 
no freakin luck finding any here! *smacks head* i should've known, but thats ok, my parents are still heading to florida, i'll have my mom run around town for me :wink:
 
So I checked both Krogers and nothing, but then they have only put out generic Christmas stuff. I have a feeling any name brand stuff will come out after Halloween. Though one had the brand spanking new Crystal Princess so I got a Sweet Sparkle for my trouble ;)

There is a Tuesday Morning here too that I can check. I know they have had MLP in the past so I may have luck, who knows. We won't know if it's confined to Florida unless we look.

no, i can't say i would. i don't consider soaking collectors a "business investment," regardless of her situation. plenty of people on the TP have money problems but you don't see them hiking up prices on sought-after stuff.

To know and not share. I know it is their choice and they don't have to share. But, it really is not nice.

Well, I found it odd that Florida and Canada are getting these MLP's when neither of these areas had this store anywhere in sight..

I know the stores we have for discounts are Toy Works (aka Kaybee), Big Lots, Save A-lot, Bealls Outlet, TJ Maxx...

I think that's a little odd that these sellers can't confirm to what store they are from or whatever.. I think it's a little suspicious.. In my opinion it should be reported to Hasbro, as some others had stated.. But then again, if you question.. They maybe banned from ebay.. Maybe it's best we don't say anything at all?

As for the person who found them in Canada, if they can't disclose where they found them, thats a little odd.. I think it's a total fluke in my opinion.

Wasn't there another set of winter babies released in target, that came out after the holidays and are also very sought after?

Winter Ice and Northern Lights? Those were available at some Targets, (never hit mine though). They had a much larger distribution than the Mejiers two, they're not nearly as sought after. And they weren't recalled, just clearanced out.

I just saw a pic of them.. I forgot what they looked like.. I remember looking for them and I never found them.. I want them now.. lol
 
Yeah, I looked all over the Targets in Jacksonville and Savannah. Guess they figured us southerners weren't interested in winter ponies. :p
 
While we were out tonight, I went to Gabriel's and Ollie's. I found nothing MLP at Gabe's, but Ollie's did have a few MLP things at extreme discounts. The most interesting was the Target exclusive So-Soft baby, Misty Mornings. If they're getting Target exclusive merchandise, I wouldn't rule them out for getting the Meijer's babies. I'll keep checking back, and if anyone has an Ollie's close by, I'd suggest looking there. If I find them, I promise that I won't keep it "my little secret."
 
I was wondering about Ollies. I have one close by, but I haven't had time to go there.

If I find them I will share as well.

Melskunk is only TEMPORARILY keeping the store's name under wraps so she can purchase lots of them for Arena members (she got flooded with requests and has since stopped taking orders). She didn't want to put the name up and have some eBay seller or something go scoop them all up and charge high prices.
 
At least she had a good reason.

I think it was nice of her to buy them for people at cost.
 
And melskunk did eventually put the name of the store in the thread, but I think she had good reason not to. She is so nice to offer to buy for fellow collectors!
