G4 What is the deal with the bagged ponies by the millions?

My ponies have already been kitty toys. I have a G3 baby that Vinny will not leave alone. Since I have two, I have just given up. He just wants to carry it around. I think he thinks he will be a mother one day. LOL
 
Oh boy, yea when I had my pug she was notorious for eating my toys and dolls. What she could do to a Barbie leg was down right scary. I had to keep everything upstairs with that puggy. Oh how I miss her. Maki doesn't bother any of my toys. I can leave them out everywhere and he leaves them all alone. My plate of food, that is a whole different story. The kitties just seem to love the ponies. This is why I don't display my G1's out on shelves. They are in a cabinet with a No Cats Allowed sign.
 
As well as being an obvious attempt to bait impulse buyers, new collectors and people who need stocking stuffers, I honestly think that they're just flawed ponies that they didn't want to use for regular sets. The only bagged pony I have is Lily Blossom, and as much as I love her, she has a paint/factory error mark on her forehead and her body. Maybe they're selling them for such a low price because their quality isn't as high?
