Do any of you still use the Social Groups? Is that a feature you would like to see stay, or maybe be removed or replaced?

I like the social groups but hardly any of them are active anymore. :(
I'd love to see them stay though!

What do you currently like about the site features/layout/etc? - The avatar and signature size restrictions. - The overall layout. - The forum sidebar. - The privilege to have shared accounts, lol. If it weren't for that I would never have been able to join in the first place. - The gallery options. - The profile message system! There's times on other forums when I want to comment on a user's avatar/signature/profile, wish them a happy birthday, etc. but I feel like it would be creepy to PM them to say that, lol. What do you not like? - The inability to create multiple folders within our inbox. I like to hold on to transaction records for a month for protection, and they can get lost within the deep recesses of my inbox. - The inability to delete photos from the Main Gallery. - The fact that I have some strange code causing my neatly-organized post to become a huge mess. >:[ What changes would you suggest? - Aforementioned message folder creation. However, to prevent users from creating a large amount of folders there should be a limit in place determining how many you can create. - Customizable layout colors similar to our profile customization options, or a larger variety of options to choose from. - Rather than have both main and profile galleries, why not combine them? Each user is restricted to one gallery in which they can upload and delete pictures.

I'm disappointed to see such a decline in SG activity over the years, and am very interested in keeping them around, but I think their current location makes them rather obscure and less likely to be noticed - hence why they've been so quiet. They need more exposure, possibly their own forum (i.e., a Clubs forum) or moved to a more conspicuous location such as the forum sidebar. Also seconding the spoiler bar request! - Mimic

I definitely agree with Mimic here. I like the idea of the Social Groups and I think they'd be more popular if they were more prominently placed. Also, here's an idea I've been entertaining for a little while in my head. I thought we could have a Sweetheart Sister Society (or something like that) as an equivalent to the Dream Beauty Lounge for the younger users (13 - 17 or 18 ). I'm nearly too old myself now, but I know I would have loved it when I first joined. I realize that the Dream Beauty Lounge serves a more important purpose because it allows older users to talk about more mature topics, but I think having a teenagers' group would be a fun way for the younger users to talk in a smaller atmosphere. I understand completely if this is out of the question, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there anyway.

I think that's a pretty good idea. There are a lot of younger users, including me, and I think it could work! :)

I have a suggestion. As I saw someone pulled up an old thread from 2007, I think the system somehow... or even the admin should be able to go in and clear out threads dated from a certain time frame. I'm actually kind of tired of people pulling up those really old threads. I don't even know how anyone had enough time to go through all those pages of threads to find the really old ones.

*looks around at the robin egg blue backdrop* Oooh~ I like this change~

The other day, I was on a more popular FiM forum and whenever I make a new thread with my commission/store thread linked in it, my thread would... disappear.

I started thinking to myself "man, I'm so glad the Trading Post isn't like this".

So um... no complaints here? *clicks on an emote and it doesn't work*

Oh come on now. Cosmos is just toying with me now.

I am super excited about the upgrades coming up! I think my only request is to have a more mobile friendly site. It's hard to read threads and interact from my phone.

And what I like about here are the forums, and most of all, YOU GUYS!

I'd like to be able to subscribe to a post so that I can get emails about if there are any replies to it. I don't know whether you can here or not but I have only been able to get emails about pm's. And I haven't been able to open Tapatalk with the TP. I'd like to be able to do that, too.

See up above where it has "thread tools"? There is an option there that allows you to subscribe to the thread. :) i think there might be other stuff in your user control panel, too, but it has been so long since I messed with any of that stuff, that I don't recall.

You are a genius!!

*bows with a flourish*

I just thought of something I really like about the TP besides a lot of things that have already been mentioned, is when you hover your cursor over a topic's title, the first line or two pops up, so that you can tell what it's about if the title is not clear enough.

I think the Social Groups aren't really necessary. Having threads on the main boards keeps things more active than having the threads "tucked away" in the Social Group format.

A sub-forum for younger collectors may be fun, but it would probably require extra moderation to be sure that Internet creeps with bad intentions don't sneak in pretending to be underage pony fans.

I miss the quick list of great websites. We used to have it up top but I haven't been able to find again.

I tried that in the past and it didn't work for some reason. Because when I click on it it says "unsubscribe from thread." And I don't get any emails about it....

I kinda like how it is. It's easy to use and familiar, I sometimes get frustrated at the arena's layout but that's just me

Did the sidebar go away? I saw it when I first got on the site but as soon as I clicked a thread it went away. How do I get back to the main forum?

The missing sidebar is temporary, as the entire software of the forum is undergoing a change. The current software is VBulletin, and is no longer well-supported, so it is vulnerable to bugs and errors that will be difficult if not impossible to fix. The missing sidebar is evidence of that. So, we are moving to a new FORMAT, a new software, but NOT a new website, and the look of the current TP will change but not drastically. The new format will be completely up to date, sleek and fast, user friendly, and will give us the opportunity to more easily change things and add things as members request them :) Hang in there guys, it shouldn't be too much longer!
