Hey guys! It's been a long time since I've been on the TP, but I'm excited to be back.

So a while ago, I mentioned that I bought a G1 Quackers off of Etsy who was described as bait. I didn't really think much of her discoloration at first, since I thought she was mostly just dirty. However, when I finally scrubbed most of my G1s with offbrand magic erasers (my new favorite thing), I kinda realized how yellowed she really was when she didn't look any different after I cleaned her.

Here are some pictures of her that I just took (please excuse the atrocious yellow lighting), and since it's a little hard to see just how yellowed she really is, I placed her next to Flower Bouquet, who's probably my whitest G1 pony.

So now I need your help, fellow pony collectors! I really need to find a way to improve her appearance, since I don't want to give up on her and turn her into a custom, as I wanted her for a while. This means that I'm not willing to paint her either, since I don't want to risk ruining her.
I looked into whitening practices on the Arena and found out that sunfading has apparently burned and ruined many Quackers, which was disappointing since I thought it was a good option in this situation. I also recently found out that even hydrogen peroxide isn't safe for Twinkle Eye ponies (need to verify this though), and acne cream is also not recommended anymore. So as you can see, I'm really at a loss here!

If there isn't a way to really whiten her, I'll be fine with keeping her the way she is, but I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do. Thanks for your help!

Normally I would say sunfading, but you can't do that to Quackers. So I would use the acne cream actually, because the problem with it was that it kept bleaching colored ponies. Quacker is normally white so that's what you want.

Maybe an oxy paste? because she's a twinkle eye (and oxy takes the coating off), and usually has drier than usual hair, I wouldn't immerse her in an oxy bath. But you could try making an oxy paste like you would for stains in clothing, and put that on her for a few days and see if there's any improvement? You could even just try the head first, and if that improves, you could take out her tail and pop the rest of her in a normal oxy bath. Oxy baths work well on browned g3's, I'm not sure if it would work on a Quackers, but you could try.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone!

And I was actually considering putting an OxyClean paste on her, because I read the back of the container and it said that it was a good choice for harder surfaces. Of course when I tried to put her in an PxiClean bath to test it out (just up to her stomach), I forgot that the water was supposed to be hot and left her in a tub of cold water for half an hour! Needless to say, it didn't do anything and I basically wasted a couple scoops of it.

As for Quackers herself, I did shampoo and condition her hair about a week ago (followed by a few trips through a hair straightener) and the condition of her hair- which was very dry and frizzy- has definitely improved. Now her mane actually rests against her neck! I plan on repeating the process again, but it's good progress so far.
