Hey guys! It's been a long time since I've been on the TP, but I'm excited to be back.
So a while ago, I mentioned that I bought a G1 Quackers off of Etsy who was described as bait. I didn't really think much of her discoloration at first, since I thought she was mostly just dirty. However, when I finally scrubbed most of my G1s with offbrand magic erasers (my new favorite thing), I kinda realized how yellowed she really was when she didn't look any different after I cleaned her.
Here are some pictures of her that I just took (please excuse the atrocious yellow lighting), and since it's a little hard to see just how yellowed she really is, I placed her next to Flower Bouquet, who's probably my whitest G1 pony.
So now I need your help, fellow pony collectors! I really need to find a way to improve her appearance, since I don't want to give up on her and turn her into a custom, as I wanted her for a while. This means that I'm not willing to paint her either, since I don't want to risk ruining her.
I looked into whitening practices on the Arena and found out that sunfading has apparently burned and ruined many Quackers, which was disappointing since I thought it was a good option in this situation. I also recently found out that even hydrogen peroxide isn't safe for Twinkle Eye ponies (need to verify this though), and acne cream is also not recommended anymore. So as you can see, I'm really at a loss here!
If there isn't a way to really whiten her, I'll be fine with keeping her the way she is, but I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do. Thanks for your help!
