Just trying to understand what you're saying here, because your definition of a flipper seems kinda wrong to me...
You buy and then resell ponies to make a living. THAT, to me, is flipping.
I sell ponies too, but the ones I sell are doubles that I have received in lots or at Value Village/flea markets. I do not try to make a profit off them. I sell them for what they are worth on my website, NOT in a store on ebay. I then use that money to buy more ponies that I don't have.
To date I have not sold a custom that someone has made for me. The ONLY reason I would sell a custom is if I were in DIRE need of money. And the first thing I would do is see if the artist would be willing to buy her back from me. (side note: There is no reason why you couldn't have posted a "who made this custom" thread to find the artist.)
I sell ponies to support my pony addiction, not to support my family. Therefore, to me, I am not a flipper.
I agree with EVERYTHING that was posted above. I also sell doubles, but I don't do it all the time. I do a HUGE lot once or twice a year and I make sure they are all nicely cleaned.
I also think that if you really wanted to find the artist, you could have made a post looking for her. That would have saved a LOT of heartache.
ALSO, regarding AA, you claim to know the seller and said that she knew the pony's value. Then WHY would you cheat your FRIEND out of making money for herself? Is it because of your sick daughter? That's what somebody said over at the Arena. That it was for your daughter. Someone also said that you bought her for around $4 or something low like that. That seems kind of odd considering the seller KNEW her value. So is your thread of trying to sell her closed then since you didn't make that post? Just trying to figure it all out.
