I really need some help everyone. I don't know what to do. I traded my custom Lothlorien about 2 weeks ago. The girl I traded with has her for sale on ebay now. She only arrived on the 17th of July. I really want my pony back! Do I try to bid on it or point blank ask to buy it back. To be even sneakier she put it on ebay.com.au

What do I do? I just want to cry. I did pm our mods about this, I just want to know my fellow creators opinions.

*posted at the Arena too*

she bought it, so i guess it is hers to do with what she wish, but I agree with you. I don't think that's right at all.

So you guys traded... no money was exchanged... and now she has the pony for sale? :(
I agree with aqua.. I mean, since you sent it to her, its hers... but I also think its crummy of her to trade and then to make money on it. Maybe she just really needs the money..
If she already has the pony up for bid, I think the only thing you can do is bid on her and hope you win it back. *hugs* Good luck!

I feel bad, really I do. But if you guys traded, even if there wasn't money involved, its hers to do as she wishes. Out of courtesy she should've asked you first if you were ok with that but technically, she has done nothing wrong.

she should at the very least though give you credit for the art in the auction, which she doesn't.

I think that even if the law is on her side, she isn't going by good morals and therefore has done something wrong. Good luck getting your pony back. :)

That's a bummer that she is selling it without giving you credit - but since she already has it up for auction, if you want it back really bad you're going to have to bid for it :-( Too bad she didn't offer it back to you first before selling it. Good luck!!!! (((hugs))))

As I already said over on the arena. Wow! I really feel for you. this is quite... well.. just wow!

I don't think selling a pony that belongs to her whether or not she traded or bought it is wrong.. it does technically now belong to her..

I do however think the way it has been gone about is a bit shady though. If it was me personally I would have contacted the custom maker first and asked if she wanted to buy/trade back and then go on to explain that I was going to sell her for whatever reason.. also in the listing I would have credited the artist.. which in this case hasn't happened.. maybe she could revise the item to at least say it was you who made her..

Vertefae, that's tough, but there's really no reason the new owner was obligated to tell you the pony would be up for sale, as it was her pony as soon as the trade was completed. Perhaps you can ask the person if she will sell her back to you?

I've heard this happens with some frequency -- even one of Woosie's customs was resold. It's not intended to be insulting, I'm sure, but it's got to be degrading to the artists involved, especially if it's turned around rather quickly. Let us know if you're able to get your custom back.

It's making me more angry because she hasn't had her but a week today and is a known pony flipper. Which I didn't know at the time of the trade. If I would of known I would not have traded her.

Just curious what is the seller's name? I searched and I think I might have found it but I don't want to break the rules by posting an auction that isn't over. :)

yup. that's the one I found. Don't worry, I'm not asking because I wanna bid, I was just curious. Good luck getting her back
:)

She's offering to send her back to me.. We'll see what happens I guess. Thankyou :)

Okay, I have to exercise my curiosity again.

What is degrading about somebody thinking art that you made is worth money? Why is this degrading? And why is it not ethical to sell artwork? Because out there in the non-pony world I've NEVER heard of an artist caring when somebody re-sells their art. Ever.

Not trying to be rude, I just don't get this.

HUn, I think it's because of the timescale.. I would be very shocked if this happened to me too.. x
