Junko Mizuno Designer My Little Pony Description:

  • Specially designed for collectors!
  • Designed by artist Junko Mizuno!
  • Fuzzy clothing!
Known for combining the macabre with the adorable, it only makes sense that Hasbro would team up with the great Junko Mizuno! Her drawings combine freakish monsters with adorable people, coated in bright colors with a dash of "awww." This sensibility translates well to this new pony, featuring a fuzzy hood, flowers, tentacles, flames, pink eyes, and pink hair. While she might look good in a toy box, she'll look even better on your desk or on a shelf. If you've ever wanted to impress your friends with an arty creation from a member of pop art royalty, now is your chance!

What do you all think of that? :)

I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread!!!

I have been a fan of Junko Mizuno's since about 2001. I've her US released comics, and have even done reports on her for class. From an aspiring comic artist, she is amazing. To know she's going to have a pony out? Even better :)

I love it! I wonder how much she will cost, and when she will be released?

I think it's a little odd, I mean it's really cool... but why this one? It's nothing at all like anything Hasbro does. There were a lot of others who could have been produced as 5 inch ponies, so why this one?
Not complaining, just wondering.

Maybe they will do them all? LOL That would be awesome!!!

ahhhhhhhh so excited!!! i have some of her dolls already and now i can add to the collection!

i love it when two entirely unrelated awesome things come together as one. =3

Cool! Um,does anyone know if Twinkle Hope has been released yet? I thought a regular size version of her was going to be out in stores?

Will it be like Twinkle Hope, and in stores, or a special order one?
I'm thinking that this one was the most popular, and is why it is being released as a 5-incher.

My guess is that it is going to be an art pony, and not released in stores. This pony is so different from what hasbro does, and I think that is why they are releasing it. A little something for the collectors, and not the kiddos. :) I wonder if she will come with the fur and shoes as accessories, or if it will simply be the pony. My guess...and this is basing it off of the other art ponies released, is that she will probably be in the 25-30 dollar range. The black and blue pony was 19.99. Then the next 2 were 12.99 each. I'm assuming that they were less so people would be more likely to buy both. If it is the only one release at the time, plus it if it has accessories, I can see it being almost $30. But, that's just my opinion.

Other than that, all I can say is I really like her. I cannot wait to buy her when she comes out.

I think the art ponies, while they are not being released at major retailers, can sometimes be found at some comic book/collectibles type stores.

The Junko Pony is not too far fetched. The style of the new ponies remind me of the way Junko draws her characters anyways.

I suppose what's really neat about Junko Mizuno is that she does have some of the G1 ponies. There's an interview on You tube that actually goes into her studio. It's littered with a lot of things (Sailor Moon, Popples, and My Little Pony for sure!) I won't post the link due to some of the mature qualities of her art throught the video. But if you type in "junko mizuno interview" into you tube it should come up to any interested viewers.
