I think I just got told off on craigslist!

Is this CL person the one who posts photos of the ponies, and has rare ones like Rapunzel, etc. posted, to show what they are looking for?

DH has pointed her out to me a few times on CL, when he has browsed looking for ponies.

Yep, that's the one! She has different pics of G1s she uses for her posts, she rotates them out so they don't catch on she is the same person.

You know what I just realized? I think I responded to that person a few months ago, and I just realized it's the same person. I had let the person know that I am a collector and that I had lots of ponies that I was looking to sell, especially if she lived in the area and wanted to stop by and look at my ponies to make me offers.

The ad that I responded to had a picture of Rapunzel and Scribbles and Dabble.

I remember them asking which ponies I had for sale, I said I don't have anything SUPER rare (that's what I think she was looking for) unless she made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. Again, I offered for her to come by to look at my collection to see if there was any pony that she really wanted. Easy for her and I both. No shipping and she knows just what she's getting. Needless to say, we never were able to pick a time for her to come over because she worked such "odd" hours. This person wasn't rude or anything. But still, don't waste my time! 00)

Here is one of their posts.

Looking for my little ponies and other old toys!

She's been deleting a lot of her CL posts since yesterday. I think she's a member here or at the Arena and got frightened someone might figure out who she is.

So, do you guys think it's wrong to post want ads for ponies in your own area? Just curious because I posted one ad in my local Craigslist a month or so ago. I have gotten no replies (except for spam) in the month or so it has been up. Apparently someone was offended by it because it was flagged for removal today. I'm sure this thread and one like it on the Arena are the reason. Unless the other person that posts all over the country flagged mine in retaliation.

Of course it isn't wrong to post want ads in your own area! That's what craigslist is for! :) I post an ad every once in a while, because you never know, you might get some good stuff. But, you get lots of spam too. It happens to everyone. There are always time-wasters out there.

Asuka: Of course it's ok to post in your own area. I'm guessing your post was maybe flagged by someone thinking you were her? I think after this blows over and she gets rid of the rest of her posts (seems she is doing that now, which is awesome) you will be able to post in your own area again without it getting flagged. ;)

Good to see she is deleting her wanted posts now (including the one you just posted up there sweetiebabyfizzy, it's gone now). I really appreciate that and hope she continues to just post in her own area from now on. That is what CL was created for after all.

I just noticed that too. I remember seeing some of those ads in my area as well. I am always put off when I notice the address of the poster isn't anywhere in the area they are posting for. :p Whatever, Craig's list is a such a strange place sometimes, both really awful and really awesome.

:banana17:

It's perfectly ok to post in your own area. I agree with the others though- I think you were flagged in retaliation -or- someone thought you were her and flagged it. I haven't put up a want ad in awhile. I'll hold off for now. Now that I think about it...I wonder if one of the responses I received (and I know many of you get this response) "you can buy them on ebay" was from the CL pony spammer.

she has taken her posts down in my area as well. weird. maybe we all got a little too close for comfort lol. does anyone know where she is really from? i hope she or he (do we know for sure its a girl!? lol) is not from michigan but she sure had a ton of ads here. like 3 in each city. 00)

That's ridiculous!

No, I would never think that it is wrong to post in your own area, that's what CL is for. ;)

I have a post too but I never get anything. :nodno: The only ad's I ever see are grimy G3s.

That person is deleting their posts? Wow, that's really nice of them. How cool. I hope they don't take this thread personal... and I do wish them luck in finding the ponies that they want.

I tried to sell a hiking pack on Cragslist for $100, a little more then what I bought it for but $60 less then what the thing retailed for. I got so many people offering about $20-$40 less then what I payed for it. And then one day I was responding to a very promising sale add but the lady never came to were we agreed to meet or called me! I had the ad up for about two months and then I finally got ****** off at a few jokers and told them I wont sell it for less then I payed for it, if they want it so cheep then I'm taking it back to REI, look for it in the scratch and dent sale, at least I'm getting my money back.

Perhaps she's really not deleting them, CL is taking them down?

Yeah, maybe the others just got flagged enough for CL to take them down?

Could be... I guess time will tell? IDK. I never get any responses for my ad looking for MLP anyway.. haha

Well, if anyone feels the need, another member here pointed me to this form you can fill out about spammers on CL:

craigslist | contact form

She and I have already filled one out on this person. It would probably help to have links to the ads she has posted in your areas to add to the form. Every little bit will help I think! Especially since it seems this person HASN'T gotten the message yet.

I just might have to do that....

You would think they would at least be smart enough to use new* or different pictures then all their other ads :doh5B15D: i mean come on? lol. she has to know the pony community is irritated about this, change your ad and story about the daughter.

i have only gotten two little nibbles since posting my ad in my area and they were both dead ends  So i seriously doubt there are that many great pony oppurtunities on craigslist hopefully she has the same luck.

..and she just posted a new ad in my area, Again. 80s My Little Ponies from childhood + others

don't give her any ideas on how to change posts around.

just continue to flag and report. i think according to craigslist eventually anything she lists will be automatically banned.
