From time to time I'll place a want ad on craigslist, as many of us do. While browsing today, I came across this reply to an earlier want ad of mine:
Wow. Firstly, I don't have a daughter and would never lie about one to get ponies. So, I never put that in my ad. Thanks for assuming.
Secondly, of course I know the value of G1 ponies! Why do you think I'm posting on craigslist? The same reason everyone does - to get something cheaper than normal! Not that I'd try to rip anyone off, but obviously this poster thinks I added "sell me ponies dirt cheap so I can flip them and laugh at you all the way to the bank" in my ad, which I can guarantee I did not.
Thirdly, the use of the "call shenanigans" phrase isn't widely used outside of this community, which makes me think some fellow collector decided I was getting too close to her "territory" and decided to warn me off. As if a webpage can be territory anyway. I'd hate to see what this person would do if we were to meet at the flea market.
I wish I could find my original ad, but it's too old to come up in the craigslist search. This just ****** me right off though!
Why do you only want the older ones from the 80s if they are for your daughter? I guess you know that some of the older my little ponys sell on ebay for hundreds of bucks. I call shenanagins on you!!!
