Do they infringe on Hasbro Generation Designs, throughout all their MLP Generations ?

I really feel like your designs are unique enough in style as to be considered original creations. Yours are truly different from the Hasbro ponies and I think should easily pass muster.

I used to work in the comic industry a lifetime ago, and you'd be stunned how close we'd come to totally ripping off another company but getting away with it because we changed just enough of the character to squeak by. Yours are miles apart from what Hasbro has put out.

I'd say: Look at Bella Sara. They use fantasy equines as well and got by just fine, although the art styles were different. I'd say your fine and your designs are more akin to Bella if anything.

A little bit, but there are lots of colorful ponies that look a lot like Hasbro's. Some cheeky enough to be dead ringers in mould or blatant character copyright and yours are unique enough in design to get away with it. Yours reminds me a bit of that German Show. Filly something or other.

Nah. I'd say Bella was more like Fantasy Filly then anything remotely resembling mlp. :)

I love stories and the Series Already..

I think your desins are different enough...and I love your logo, too.
Are they inspired by Clydesdales? I have a soft spot for draft horses.

Thank You..

However they are not the Only Species in my World.. I have over 30 different and Unique Species.. You can see them all here. And no I'm still not finished loading them.

Yes, Clydesdale are my Favorite Horse Creatures

Clydesdale and Pony = Clyony
Uni
corn and Clydesdale = Unidale
Cly
desdale and Pegasus = Clyasus

Cly
desdale and Unicorn and Pegasus = Clyuniasus

Yes even watching Leapfrog with my kids inspires me to invent new words.

Im not the only one with a Creative Wild Imagination. There are many whom are creative in Storytelling and even invent new Species. There is no Doubt in my Mind they too can work together and Build a Whole New Franchise for their Creations. However sadly I feel they are hoping Hasbro would take their creations under their wing..,

To be honest If I can start a Franchise, So can the fans with their Creations.

Do you think I should pay the Extra Expense for a IP Lawyer to over the 4 Species to make sure I'm in the clear from Hasbro MLP. Some of the Names need a Redo.

Story Wise No Worries there. The Rest of my inventive characters, no problem there.

However we know how Hasbro feels about Rivals and will do everything in their power to stomp them out.

Here is a Sneak Peek. Two of my Species Designs The Mertail and the Glimron.

22996 22997

My Partner Alex Blue Bird creative Masterpieces..
22995

I hope I inspire others to take their own creations and Build a Franchise out of it too.

Hugs Everyone and Thank You for your Support

Thank You Kindly here is the old and new look...

before It looked too generic and like Hasbro way of things, it lacked style and originality, so I decided to do someting Way Different..

Looking at the old and new which one totally stand out to you ?

23032
23033

My Favourite G1 Toy has always been the Big Brother, Mountain Boys, and Baby Brothers.

The reason Because they Reminded me so Much of The Clydesdale Horses look... Not the Same however the closest we will ever get...

Personally I loved watching the MLP FIM TV series with my Kids, however Did not Like the Style of the Toys. They looked like clones of one another... Granted not all characters in the show were clones, some were different, however even the main cast and bulk of characters were clones from each other..

I'm just tired of people calling my Creations MLP Rip offs..

Do you think I should still pay a IP lawyer, just to get those people off my back... Or not bother with the extra cost and put it else where. ?

Or I should just show them the before and after look to clarify things..?

Thank You all, for you advice and guidance.

As a Special Treat,

Here is My Facebook Page Exclusively to the the Clyony Franchise I"m Building. Here I will Be giving Updates to the Franchise progress, Upcoming New Species. Story Sneak Peek, and More.

I'm new to Facebook so its going to take a while. For me to get better organized..

Thank You All, for you Advice and Support.

The new ones, they definitely have more style and flair.

Can't blame you for embracing the big bro Clydesdale look, seems like Hasbro touches on those types of idea but produces so few and their toylines are drowning in a sea of estrogen lol

I'm clueless about the IP stuff to be honest. You can if you want so people can't copy you

I hate that feeling too about people calling art unoriginal. People try calling my art "base edits". It's maddening

Maddening enough for me to try and buy a 3-D printer some day to attempt to make my own pony bases and be like "booyah! What now?"

I also don’t know much about the whole IP thing. But I think if your really promoting it a lot with in the pony community you are going to get that kind of feed back.

As an artist myself, I can see the inspiration of your artist’s designs of the G3/G4 mash up. And when your trying to draw cutesie ponies with any kind of markings it is VERY hard to get away from the MLP stigma. Remember MLP is a brand that 3 generations of women and men have grown up with, seeing these designs will bring back the nostalgic memories to us.

But I feel your ideas and back stories will set you apart from the MLP stigma. I wouldn’t worry too much of trying to impress a few. Show the masses what you have to offer, show them your characters and stories and ideas. That’s what people fall in love with.

Hasbro created MLP toys AND a show to sell the toys. Kids want toys of their favourite cartoon characters. Back in the day it was affordable for companies to make a 20min “poorly” animated show to ouch product. Advertisement in broadcasting. Now, we relie on social media platforms. Same thing but reaches around the world at half the cost.

Thank You..

I know how you feel... Its sad how people can't tell the difference between something that totally obviously stands out over a Generic Clone.

I was looking inside this book I bought long ago..

23035

At the end she give you a little yellow message..

23036

Interesting......

So I done more homework..

Even on non MLP Forms they say the same Thing...

still I'm Going to Keep Going.......

"'Copyright only protects you from someone else reproducing one of your actual artworks – not from someone else coming up with their own work in the same style ''

In the MLP Franchise they depend heavily on the 3 main Species Unicorn, earth, Pegasus.

In the World of what I created. We have beyond 4 Specie. I love and adore detail and creativity...

here is More Exclusives.. Yes I plan to invent and create more new species...

23037230382304023041
230422304323044230492304523046230472304823050230512305223053

More Raw Exclusive Sneak Peeks...

23054230552305623057

I Love Inventing and Creating..

and Yes my creations involve the Entire Planet...a Massive Flood of species... And the Stories are written to the Teens and Adult Level.. Not for those who are Far to Sensitive to The Harsh Realities of Life..

Here is Two getting Work Done Now..

2305823059

Unlike the Generic Clone of Hasbro. I Love Creativity..

Thank You Everyone

Your Advice is very helpful.

I just got paranoid when my Trademark Lawyer advised me to get a Copyright non infringement opinion from an IP Lawyer.

I seriously thought he was talking about the Gen 5 MLP Reboot

That would be why I posted on MLP forms. you are the people who know the MLP the most. You can tell the difference if my 4 species can get me in hot water with Hasbro.

However, after extensive research, Resourceful tips from my Trademark Lawyer,

and the input from people like you. I have more than enough confidence to move forward. And not worry about the Nay Sayers. Who say no you can't do that.

I love cartoons that is why my creations look so much like cartoon characters. I love and Cherish a Colorful world. I also Adore Music of all kinds.

the Stories are More Teen, adult.

My Goals are Small Novels and Coloring books.

As much as my written work are for an older crowd, there Is room for a lighter softer side for children too.

After all there are young Foals and fillies whom have mini stories that are very cute and adorable.

Perhaps what I created, in the Future, Inspired by my written novel works, Be the Very First Animated Cartoon Series, for us Teens and Adults.

There could even be a separate Series for children inspired from the storybooks exclusively designed to children too.

who says you can not do both.

I know getting way over my head..

this I will let you know personally. I will be the reason this new Franchise Will Grow.

here is another Design Sneak peek....

what is this Species...

Clydrauniwolfabatasus. His story is within my novel series too.

His father is a Clydraunibatasus his mother a wolf..

One thing about me, I do not cheap on detail.

23091

Decided to dedicate a Facebook Page to my Future Franchise.

Thank You Everyone

and Have a Beautiful Night

Laurie Ann Garland

More Surprises on the way..
