Do you like the generation 4 pony toys?

No I don't like them, To each their own though, my daughter has a few and the colors are nice, but they barely resemble anything equine to me, they're like a giraffe/bratz/chibi doll/ mutant with a muzzle that looks beaky. I was quite disappointed when Hasbro started making them like that. As for those icky human/hybrid equestrian girls....I have some very nasty things to say that would probably get me in a lot of trouble, so I'll keep it to myself.

Even though Gen 4 is the dominating generation in my collection, it's not my favourite. I just wish the toy line was treated more like the G3 toy line. I want more random ponies that nobody has heard of, not 700 releases of the exact same figure. And bring back the holiday exclusives!

I personally like the G4s but only the molded ones and not the brushables...the brushable heads just look too weird and it irks me when they don't even resemble the characters they are supposed to be. I did end up getting the 10" Nightmare Moon because I love black horsees/unicorns and because she has a ton of nice hair and nice molded wings but she's the only brushable I have. I do wish they would make more individualistic molds for the blind bag/miniature ponies though...I think with wave 11 that seems to be the case but it is more fun to have a unique pony to represent each character! Other blind bag lines manage to include parts and accessories and design elements (Playmobil and Lego blind bags for example) so that each figure feels unique and I think Hasboro could do the same with the FiM line.

As for Equestria girls I find them bothersome too...I feel like the show was created just so Hasboro could have a line of dolls to compete with Barbie and Monster High...they look a lot like Monster High dolls to me. I hate how the focus is so much on fashion and how they are all rail-thin with giant high heeled shoes...really not a healthy image for young girls I think. FiM is a cute show and it is more about fun and fantasy and imagination (at least it seems that way...I've hardly watched it)...not shoes and dresses and being skinny :p

I totally hear what you are saying about most of the Gen 4 toys but Funco is putting out ponies of the same size as Generation 1! I am attaching a photo of my Gen 1 and Gen 4 AJs.

I like the larger-sized ponies that have been coming out lately~ haven't bought any XD

But I like seeing them on the shelves and going "Ooooh if I makes some extra sales soon I may have to stock up"
