Hi gang, so many of you have awesome fun names. I know a couple of their meanings but not all. For instance, Momo_no_Hime's name came out in a very fun and peachy way. I'll let her share the story if she wants to.

So what i'm asking is, would you all care to share the story/meanings, behind your sig names? I'm dying to know a lot of these creative names. Like does Whippetlove own whippets? what does Skig mean? Stuff like that?

Me? Um well mine is named after a really good plant. :) that's all i'll say. :Tree-Huggin:

When I first joined a Care Bear message board back in '99, I needed to come up with a character to use. I love monkies, so I chose Playful Heart. I've kept it ever since...even when I joined with the pony peeps.

Because Baby Starbow is the most underrated rainbow pony ever, and MLP = More Love Please :D
 
I am sure mine isn't what you would think is fun and excited but the little girl who is my screenname's namesake sure is. I wasn't exactly sure what I was signing into/up for when I first found the TP as I was searching for MLP information for my 3 year daughter Mia so I used her name and the year she as born since I originally thought this site would be used to find stuff out for her pony collecting. Well, seems I am a bigger pony collector then her now. :) When a package arrives she simply "More ponies for Momma" LOL
 
Cubey was Apple Mac Cube G4's nickname that I called computer a nickname but I use this nickname as my personal nickname back in 2000

I have custom pony "Cubey the Cube G4" with Silver "Apple" logo cutie mark :D
 
I'm basically adopted the name of my favorite bird and birdsong. :p My persona is a windy wing with cardinal markings and gold accents.
 
metrocard2 used to be my eBay name so I signed up for the ponyboards with the same name to be consistent. I got the idea to call myself that because I had a whole stack of metrocards on my desk that needed to have their balances checked, and I liked how the name identified the city I live in. Sure enough, the pony collectors in my area replied to my intro post immediately. :D

mine is from winnie the pooh. i started on ebay with it and brought it to the pony boards. i love tigger the bestest, but my kids had taken that. so i came up with the elusive jagular (jaguar) that pooh and piglet track. according to the story, jagulars hide in trees and cry help! help! then when you look up at them they fall on you. of course in pooh land nothing is ever truly dangerous, just cute.

I like ponies and my nickname is "Jules". But I like the way it sounds like "jewels" so I intend for it to sound that way.
...Like my dA user name = The CrownofJules. Just sounds more fun. :weird:
To be completely honest - I didn't put much thought into creating my nick...

My name is noting exciting. Haha, it's quite boring, actually.
Well, when I first signed up here, I didn't know a whole lot about ponies, obviously.
I though I'd just take my name and put one of the types of ponies in front of it to make myself one of them. I chose "So Soft" because it's one of my favorite sets, and it is also short enough to fit. I have liked how it has turned out- I think it's pretty easy to remember, and people always know my real name, which is nice. I like being called by my name.
Studies show being called by your name actually makes you happy. Maybe it's because people like getting recognition.

Anyway, that's all for me. I'm interested to see some other people's responses, especially Spoosh and Pink Chicken, wherever she is!
 
Mine is a pretty boring story. I was slightly obsessed with Baby Brightbow at one stage, and just adopted her name everywhere. I wish I had come up with something more spunky at the time. Lol. :)
 
Eh it's nothing too difficult as far as my name goes...

My nickname even offline is Duckie... but being that I *am* online right now I throw in Digital ;)
 
When I first found MLPTP years ago, I wanted a pony user name and I didn't want the name to be of a common pony. I chose Tap Dancer because I am a tap dancer and also because I like Tap Dancer's colors and symbol a lot. I almost always use this user name when I join a forum. :D

Thanks! I've been dancing off and on since I was 14. I don't really take classes anymore, but I love to dance.

I dont know why i could not register "Raposa" (my most common name all around the world :p ) i got an error in all my attempts to register as Raposa... so o got my fave pony - Gusty, duh - and put fox (Raposa in english) toghether... not that creative.

I can also be found arround as San.Raposa ... when i get problem to register Raposa i add San (Mononoke Hime homage)

I got Maggie not too long before joining the online world..and so Whippetluv I became. I got a hotmail account and whippetlove was taken...so I misspelled it. When I joined the MLPTP *my first and still favorite pony board* in 2000 or so I went with it! So yeah...whippetluv loves her whippets!
Oh and the funny part of the story? I later found out that a whippet was a drug in europe and some people thought I was a druglover! ha!
 
Avea is just a name I started using for online games and it really grew on me. It's so hard to get a short decent name for those games. I like it so much I considered naming my second daughter it, until i saw the look on my bf's face, lol. We named her Eva instead. I know it's pretty similiar, but it wasn't on purpose, Eva is actually my middle name. We fought about names until the day she was born, he only liked common names, and I didn't. The funniest part of my rambling is when I picked Eva on the day she was born he got to pick her middle name. He picked Reanne. How is that common?? But I liked it, so I just nodded my head and said it's perfect. Men, lol.

Well not just in Europe but I have to admit I've heard so little about it these days that my first thought is of the breed, then of Devo, and then the drug XD;;
 
skig is a nickname that came from a drunk cousin over 10 years ago. She never remembered anything about that night except the nickname, and it just stuck. So when we got the internet in '99, it's the name that I used everywhere. I also go by skigjmr85 (initials and birth year) at some sites.

The cousin and I no longer speak because she's a deadbeat mother and a drug addict (long story). I also found out that 'skig' is a slang term for 'cigarette,' which is ironic because I've never smoked in my life - never even tried it - and have bad allergic reactions to cigarette smoke after prolonged exposure. I don't want to change all of my screen names, though, because that's what I've been known as for all these years.
