Ahh the no-women-can-be-bronies argument. It kind of makes me sad, honestly. :[ I feel like - if women wanna be called Bronies, no one should be there to stop us, and be all "you aren't allowed to use this cuz you are GIRLS." I call myself a Brony, just for myself, since I think it should extend to all FiM fans, not just the guys. :] I also feel it smacks a bit of separatism - like, 'boy fans stay over here and you girls go over there.' I think we should be a cohesive community! That said, Pega-sister is very cute, and I will definitely pass that on for the ladies who don't want the title of 'Brony.'
 
Oh I just wanted to add something I thought of. Buttons and Slugger being together was made pretty obvious on the show. But any other pony shipping I have no idea where people get their ideas from, cause I never see any implications on the show as far as I can see. Fizzy and Wind Whistler... come on. I don't think an 80s kids show would have lesbians on it anyway, because people weren't as open about it back then.

When people pair characters together. It's because of the last four letters of the word "relationship". Seriously, people can fantasize about it all they like, even though its not my thing... I just dont get it though how people say they think its actually implied on the show. Because its not.

Ofcourse, some people see things that others don't. Same thing goes with the Shipping.
People just like to fantasize about it.​
 
Oh, I know for a fact that RarityxFluttershy isn't on the show. It's a children's show, made in the US, and there is no way they would pair two filly's together. I just think it would be cute if it happened ;.;

Any kind of convention, like anime or comic books, those are really good places to meet up with them. :D
I know there are 'brony' meet ups from time to time. You can get a lot of info from websites like ED about any upcoming events.

yeah, it seemed like people were saying they thought it was implied on the show. I mightve been mistaken.... I have to say though, it IS kinda sad if the show would have hetero pairings but purposely not gay ones. They should either be open to both, or have none...

Well, it IS made for children so I guess you know as well as I do that they won't allow gay pairings on there for the sake of the children.
I know it's not okay. There are as well gay couples as hetero ones, and I 'm sure our children nowadays are very aware of that,
but still they want to give the "perfect" example, which I think is really sad.
You don't choose to love a man or a woman, it just happens.
I know quite a few gay couples, and they seem so happy, and are really nice people.​

No, but seriously, shipping has been around since the old cartoons. I seem to remember awhile ago there being a thread either here or on the mlparena about which ponies (the toys) people paired together as a child.
 
"Ships" seem to only be in the minds of the fans. I think as far as the show is concerned, I think they're all just really good friends or close like sisters.

Absolutely.

I'm totally guilty of shipping on other shows when there is no real basis for it (mostly like Digimon LOL) but I have a hard time shipping ponies. Especially the main girls with each other. -shrug-
