Remember when ponies first came out? Remember when big, Aqua Net filled hair was WIN< (ok we totally did not use "WIN" back then)?
How about the neon colored outfits? Did you have Pac Man fever? What about all those music videos that you would either laugh or cringe at today? The list could go on forever! If you weren't an 80's child, google the 80s. You may or may not like it LOL​

You are taking a pony back to the 80s! Take a pony (can be any generation or feel free to use a fakie!) and decorate him/her to best represent the 80's. You can customize with paint, make accessories and outfits, or do both! You can submit up to 2 ponies for voting.​

Members who enter will ultimately be entered into a voting poll , and members of the community will vote on who rocks the 80's the most! The top two people with the most votes will receive a prize!​

That's not all folks! There is a part 2 of this contest! Members who actually dress up to represent the 80's (please take separate photo of you with pony(s) will also qualify for a chance to win another prize. Those separate photos will be judged by a panel of Moderators. One winner for this part!
(if you are uncomfortable with posting your photo but can get someone else to dress up and pose for you, you are more than welcome to take that option too)​

Post photos right in this thread for entry. Please limit your photos to 4 total (if you are entering yourself in the 2nd part of the contest, please make it one of the 4 pictures) If you choose to enter 2 ponies, the picture limit is still 4, you will just have less pics of the same pony. Also when posting, please do not post huge pics! Also note which photo you would like to use from each entry for voting (excluding the photo of you and the pony, that will be voted on separately).
The question of photoshopping has been brought up. You may use photoshop for the background only. Pony and/or collector (you) must not be photoshopped or the entry will be automatically disqualified!​

Person with the most votes will choose first. Person with the 2nd highest amount of votes will choose next. The person who wins mod vote for member dressing up with pony will take what is behind the last door!​

I always considered "Neon Lights" to be the epitome of 80's pony wear goodness LOL
 
Might have to look into this! Contest even ends on my birthday. AND I was born in 1980! :p What an awesome idea!

Oooh, sounds like a fun contest! I probably won't be entering though since I haven't learned to customize ponies yet, but I thought I'd share an 80s picture from a work event last year. ^^

That's me trying to look serious, tough, and hardcore, but yeah...I think I just ended up looking angry...hehe.

Can you believe they actually sell those huge jumbo neon earrings at the store?!

ooooh I can see it now = how many Cindy Lauper vs Madonna ponies :)

(goes to look thru closet = neon - yep, skinny ties - yep, bangles... where did I hide all those rubber dangle bangles = oh right, kids have 'em now since I'm too cheap to get silly bands...)

this sounds like fun :) I'll be watching even if I don't jump in :)

BTW = I love the back to the future style logo for this contest = perfect

XD That's too cute panda! And you don't need customizing skills to enter :) You just need some creativity and ..a box of tacky-ness LOL

Hey guys, few things were edited on the original post :)

The main parts:
1. You can submit up to two pony entries
2. Instead of dressing up yourself, if you are uncomfortable in front of the camera but can get someone to dress up for you to pose with your entry, that is fine :)
 
*insert evil laugh here* We just watched 'The Runaways' the other day too! Hmmm... now to see if I can find any scrap leather laying around...

Oh awesome. I was going to ask that today actually, cause idt anyone wants to see me dressed up ^^; But I'm sure my sister would love to do it for me! :D

Glad to have you getting involved! Contests are a great way to get involved with the community :)

You don't have to customize at all . You can do whatever it takes to 80's up you and your pony!
