I decided to start Baby Cotton Candy’s tour by posting some of my own pictures of her. Here you will see pictures of her at the Berkeley Marina/Pier, with some of my collection, with me, and at the University of California Berkeley (a.k.a. Cal) campus.

And then after taking pictures of her, I decided to give her a bath and salon treatment, so that she would look nice going to the first participant. As a result, her hair is curlier now than it was in the pictures, but I expect it will probably straighten out as the tour progresses.

Please check back for updates!

With her first stop being Gingerbread's, she will be sure to get a good belly full of great food to get started on her road trip! :eat:

I've always been fascinated with the whole "traveling gnome" / "flat Stanley" thing. I've never been able to actually participate though as my post office is a pain in the butt. Post Offices aren't night owl friendly.
00) Be open at night blast you!

Also, I'm not near one for it to be convenient. The one that is closest to be is in the back of an ACE Hardware and they don't take debit cards or credit cards, just cash. It's so redonkulous.

Ah well. I don't live near anything of interest anyhow. Unless you know anything about Daniel Boone I guess.

Definitely try and make plans with you when I have her....Medley and Red Roses can chaperon her around the City. We HAVE to get pics of them with police and carriage horses...ooohhh! We can got to the carriage horse stable I made friends with!

Baby Cotton Candy is in the mail, on her way to Gingerbread!

awesome. looks like this baby is going to have crazy stories to tell the other babies when she comes back home to you, jupiter_oski.

A special guest arrived today! She's very excited about the itinerary I have set out for her, which among many other fun and historical activities is going to include participating in a séance this weekend. It's part of a big birthday celebration at a local museum for a certain someone famous, who lived in Richmond, whose 201st birthday is on the 19th of this month...any guesses? I'm sure it will be eerily spectacular! I can't wait to post pictures!

Well, my first guess was so far wrong it's not funny! LOL It's (types in white so others can guess) POE!!! who I *so* don't associate with Richmond. I can't WAIT to hear about her seance experience! (and yours of course lol) *shivers*

Glad to hear that Baby Cotton Candy is safely with you, Gingerbread! I look forward to your pictures! :)

So Baby Cotton Candy is on her way to victorose! I very much enjoyed her company (she's SO polite)! We had a fun week and have tried to get in as much as we could with the cold weather. On to the pics....

Whew! I'm glad to be out of there! Feels good to stretch my legs!

Baby Cotton Candy meets my herd... (She made SO many friends!)
IMG_0081.jpg

She really made herself at home, can you find her?
IMG_0084-1.jpg

How'd you get in there? Don't you want to come out to play?
IMG_0083.jpg

So the next day we had to get ready to go to work...

Is my lipstick ok?
IMG_0090.jpg

Here we are, ready for a fun filled day of pap smears and ultrasounds
IMG_0052-1.jpg

Baby Cotton Candy is such a good helper
IMG_0053.jpg

On the way back from taking a patient to Labor & Delivery Baby Cotton Candy wanted to ride in the wheelchair, we snapped this in the elevator
IMG_0054.jpg

So later that night? or morning? around 2:30am we went to our seance at the Poe museum. We toured the museum first and then did the seance. Unfortunately since there were more people than expected they had to hold the seance in one of the exhibit rooms where pictures aren't allowed. This is a picture from the courtyard garden area, cameras were pretty much banned anywhere else *bummer* and just FYI, we didn't get any spiritual interaction guess the dead didn't care to play
IMG_0057.jpg

So when we finally got up the next day my family was hungry for a heavy-duty breakfast, Baby Cotton Candy helped in the kitchen and let me warn all future hostess...Baby Cotton Candy has an insatiable appetite! We had scrambled eggs, biscuits, fried potatoes, sausage gravy, bacon, sausage links and fried bologna...yum!
IMG_0058.jpg

Baby Cotton Candy and Frank bonded, I caught them watching TV together
IMG_0076.jpg

The next day we went to the Science Museum of Virginia, this is the Earth sculpture. I took a pic of the info plaque (so I don't have to explain, I'm so lazy)
IMG_0059.jpg

IMG_0062.jpg

Then we went to Maymont Park. This is one of my most favorite places since I was a child. It's a gorgeous park, I recommend if you ever visit!

These pictures are from the Italian garden, it's prettier in the spring/summer when things are in bloom....
IMG_0064.jpg

IMG_0065.jpg

I got married here :)
IMG_0063-1.jpg

The fountain wasn't running *bummer* (can you spot the BCC?)
IMG_0066-1.jpg

This is the Japanese garden area...
IMG_0067.jpg

IMG_0069.jpg

I had to coax her across the pond, she was frightened by the giant coy fish. I wish they would've shown up better in the picture
IMG_0068.jpg

IMG_0073.jpg

This tree is one of my favorite things in the park. I wish I could've gotten all of it in. The carvings on the tree go 15+ feet high and the roots spread out at least 20 feet but alot of it was covered by leaves. It's very impressive in the summer.
IMG_0070.jpg

Then we went home, Baby Cotton Candy helped me pick something to make for dinner the next day when we had guests...we made Smothered Chicken, which is Friday's "Recipe of the Day" in my recipe thread if you're interested
IMG_0096.jpg

A few days later we went to Hollywood cemetery. It's actually a very pretty place even if a bit morbid. There are alot of important people buried there and alot of old tombstones. It's a neat place to look around...
IMG_0092.jpg

We call this tomb the birdcage, it houses James Monroe (5th president) can you find BCC?
IMG_0091.jpg

it started to rain so we had to go before I got to get to any of the other neat things there but we moved on to our next destination

We went to the Jefferson hotel. It's a beautiful place to stay but very expensive. I wish they still had the alligators in their fountain *sigh* Hubby and I spent our wedding night there since we weren't leaving for our honeymoon till the next day, it was over 300.00 a night and that was many years ago. But it is a gorgeous hotel and their service is top notch, many famous people have stayed there. They were getting ready for an evening banquet so the lights were dimmed and my pictures came out dark.
IMG_0094.jpg

This is the grand staircase, which some firmly believe was the model for the one in the Atlanta mansion from Gone with the Wind. Either way it has an outstanding presence and I couldn't even capture half of it. Can you spot BCC?
IMG_0093.jpg

But like all good things, BCC had to go. She didn't want to get back in a stuffy box but I assured her she was going to have such a great time with victorose and it would be worth it. So with a little minor prodding she made her way into her package...
IMG_0097.jpg

Thanks for such a good time Baby Cotton Candy, feel free to visit anytime!

You take such wonderful pictures!! Lucky Baby Cotton Candy to go see so many different sights!

I love the pictures of her with the huge tree and in the wheelchair. I can't wait to see more pics!

~Raven

Odie and I cant wait for her arrival!! I think we may take a trip to Philadelphia together, since I live so close. So excited!

Awwwwwwwwwwesome pictures! What an adventure. I love the lipstick check--she looks mlike she's puckering up, too! LOL And that earth sculpture--totally cool. It really floats on water???! BCC is about moon-sized, accordingly Heh!

*edit* Upon further reflection... what happens if the water pressure drops, or the electricity goes out? Does that 27 ton earth drop into the base with an awful thud???

Yes, I'm obsessing now.

DBM, yep totally floats and rotates on it's own axes, the moon one you can actually push and make it turn in another direction since it's smaller. Then in will go back into spinning in it's natural direction. I didn't get a pic with the moon one because there are always kids all over it since you can move it. I'm not sure what would happen if power went out? Hmmm? I'll have to remember to ask next time I go. I'm somewhat amused thinking of this giant granite ball, smashing down on its base, busting it and rolling uncontrollably through the streets of downtown Richmond LOL! Get out of the wayyyyy!!!!

Update: I have received word that Baby Cotton Candy is now with victorose!

Gingerbread--thanks for posting the pictures of Baby Cotton Candy! Unfortunately my computer at home is REALLY old and slow, so I haven't been able to actually see the pictures properly yet (they're not loading on my computer), but I'll try to view them on another computer sometime this week. From your captions though, it sounds like you had fun!
