10 fun questions for pony people!

Oh, I love these kinds of questionnaires! :D

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
About 170-180, including the doubles and McDonalds figures.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
Generation 1, because this is the gen I grew up with.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
I love all the pony figures, but if I were to name my top 3 that'd be: Sugarberry, baby Ember (the purple one) and Daffodil.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
I can't really answer that question, since I'm single. :p

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
It all started, when I first began watching the "Friendship is Magic" show last year. It got me all sentimental, since, like I said, I remember growing up with the old G1 ponies, and even owning some of them (I still have them). So I started collecting them. :)

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
The shy earth pony pose and the shy pegasus pose.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
The eyes and symbol must look good - that I think is my only requirement. Since ponies are quite hard to come by where I live, and I'm not all too keen on using eBay, I'm not a picky collector, and usually I'll take nearly all pony in any shape and condition - so long as it isn't something that's beyond restoration.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

Both.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
None of that. From time to time I think about getting a tattoo, but I'm not sure if it'll be something pony related. As for dyeing my hair... I don't want to do that. I like my hair as it is. :)

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
Depends on the circumstances. For the next couple years, I'll be collecting them for sure, since there are still a lot of figures I don't own. Will I ever sell them? Don't think so. Unless , I'll come across replacements for the ponies that are in not-so-good condition (excluding my childhood herd - these ponies I'll never get rid of, no matter what).

1. I think I might have over 50 ponies, including G1, G3 and G4.
2. G1. Love the nostalgia!
3. Pepperberry, G1 Apple Jack, G1 Butterscotch
4. I live by myself. My family wasn't real supportive at first, but I think they just accept it now. ;)
5. I got interested when I got G1 Butterscotch for Christmas when I was wee. I loved the chunky bodies of the G1s and all the colours and different cutie marks.
6. The G1 Parasol pose(shy pose?).
7. Nice symbols, little to no eye rubs, no marker spots.
8. Both
9. Nope.
10. I can't see myself getting rid of my collection for a while. :)

1. I think about...30?
2. My favourite would be g1 in terms of toys... but g4 in terms of the show
3. fluttershy (g4) she was my first pony, honeysuckle and baby cuddles are tied for 2nd they were my first g1s
4. ...they think it's too much... others think it's creepy... the rest think it's cute.
5. i guess when my friend told me about them...in grade 6
6. i don't know... i like them all.
7. soft silky uncut hair, good body and finally good symbols, blush and eyes.
8. i do both...(still waiting for season 4)
9. No i don't, and i don't plan to either.
10. YES... *ahem* i mean...um... they hold special memories.

I1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately) I think its in the 1000s somewhere and its been awhile since I even began to count again.
2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys? G1. I grew up playing with them.
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time? 1.So soft Surprise. 2. Alternate birthflower morning glory. 3. Princess Taffetia
4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? I think he knows that I love ponies by now. Though he doesn't seem to care really hes got his own collections.
5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you? I collected from childhood. I think any pony interested me back then and its still the same now.
6. What is your favorite pony "pose"? shy pegasus pose.
7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1 - I think the body of a pony is the most important to me. I could change the hair and repaint the symbol but I dont know how to restore ie - a chewed ear.
9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to? not really. I think it isn't my style to each their own.
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then? I am not sure. I think it may depend on if my daughter would take care a small amount of my collection. Or I would just sell them which would make me sad.:sadpony:

1. I have 151 ponies right now, and I keep a list of all the ones I have.

2. My favorite generation of MLP would have to be G3, hooves down.
I grew up with it and it was a big part of my childhood.
I like their design the best, they still embody the charm of G1 but with a little more modern flair.
I still have some of my old ponies and I treasure them

3. My favorites would have to be:
G3 Breezy; She was my first ever pony
G4 Twilight Sparkle; she reminds me of myself and I can mostly identify with her
G1 Applejack; she was so cute and funny!

4. My mom doesn't really mind my pony infatuation, although sometimes she can get a little annoyed with how I always ask her for a new pony. ^^;
One of my best friends, Kayla, is a G4 fan like me and we collect together; if I get a pony that I already have, I'll give it to her.

5. I was 4 or 5 years old when I first began to collect My Little Ponies.
I've always loved horses and I loved taking care of my pony toys.

6. I have different faves for each generation (that has a lot of variation):
G1: Surprise pose, Dancing Butterflies pose, Posey pose, Moondancer pose
G3: Kimono pose, Wysteria pose, Gem Blossom pose, Valenshy pose

7. (In order) Nice, brushable hair, clean body and good paint with no scratches or rubs

8. Both!

9. Nope. :p

10. Of course! And some day they'll belong to my kids :)

Yay!

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately) I think around 300. Need to put up another bookcase, display last bunch here, and COUNT.
2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys? G1!!!!!!
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time? Starshine. I remember when I pulled her out of the package, I thought she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. She still makes me smile when I see a pristine white one with silky rainbow hair and a nice glittery symbol!!!
4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate? My sweet husband built me some extra-deep shelves to house my playsets since the little boogers don't fit on a standard 12" deep bookcase. I do keep them in one room of the house (the "pony room") but occasionally a G3 with a magnet attaches itself to something... OOPS. :winkpony:
5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you? Ponies were my bestest little friends when I was a kid! Then when they invented the internet (I'm old) I found THIS SITE online, and eBay, and threw down my money. I wanted to have the ones that I had when I was a kid!
6. What is your favorite pony "pose"? Moondancer - so intelligent and pensive!, followed maybe by the classic collector pose - so iconic.
7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. Body - no big marks, cancer, smooze, etc. Hair - uncut, no tail rust, still silky. Symbol - better be pretty close to pristine. (I'm picky.)
8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both? Nope.
9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to? I have some tattoos but no pony tattoos... yet. I've always been on the fence about what to get. The symbols of my favorites are glittery - kinda hard to reproduce! I've thought about a big scene but don't know the right artist around here for that. Maybe someday...
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then? Not sure - the G1's are starting to give up. They get that sticky feeling, and there's only temporary fixes for that... I feel like I'd better have them an enjoy them now because one by one they're going to start to fall prey to that plasticizer problem. But I'll keep them as long as I can!

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
My guess would have to be around 1000, I counted a few years back and it was around 900 so I'd assume I'm at least 1000 by now.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
I'll always be a purest, G1 for life.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
My three favorites from childhood are Baby Sugarberry, Baby Glory and Baby Tiddleywinks. Without the bias of my childhood Gusty, Cuddles and Ember have to be my top three.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
I live alone but my friends are fairly supportive of my hobby. I don't have a ton of ponies out in the family room but there are bunches. I think they respect that it's something I enjoy so much.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I'm a lifelong collector. I didn't skip a beat going from playing with ponies to collecting them. When I was eleven I bought my first pony on eBay and I decided that was when I crossed the threshold into collecting. I really have no explanation as to why I love ponies so much, I guess they're just so awesome.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
The Ember pose, all day, all night and in every direction. My dream is to own every Ember pose baby.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks.
Number 1 is absolutely hair, I can overlook almost any body fault for an uncut silky mane. Number 2 is probably just making sure the pony doesn't have cancer or pindot mold, three would be permanent stains. If the cutie mark's a little scuffed up I can cope.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I'm an 80s show addict. I do also watch and love friendship is magic but MLP and friends is actually an enormous part of why I love ponies.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I'd love to have a tattoo of firefly and yoda in a lightsaber battle.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I think I'll still be collecting but in a different capacity. Living on my own and in smaller apartments compared to my mother's large house has changed the way I view space. My goal is to eventually cull out a majority of my G3 ponies and really focus on G1s.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
117 (not including doubles)
2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1 is all I collect
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Gypsy
4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
My husband doesn't care about ponies but he supports and finances my collection :winkpony:
5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I started collecting in the early 90s when I was a small child (unfortunately I wasn't born until 88 so I missed most of the early pony years). I got a couple for Christmas and just loved them, I don't know why but they are the only toys from childhood that I still absolutely love and could never part with
6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Shy pose (like Bow Tie)
7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
#1 nice soft uncut hair #2 nice symbols #3 no major marks on body
8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I loved the My Little Pony Tales that was on when I was a child, I remember watching it on Saturday mornings, still collect the G1 movies etc and would love to somehow get a copy of the show
9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I have tattoos but I don't know if I would consider a pony related one or not
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I am pretty sure I could never part with my collection

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

I own fourteen ponies, and I bought my fourteenth one today - I found a Twilight Sparkle for $2.99 at Kroger's. I already have Twilight Sparkle though, but I really wanted her accessories, so I might sell her. I am not sure yet.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

G4.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Fluttershy and Rarity.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

I'm dating someone who is vaguely familiar with ponies, but not as excited as I am. We don't really talk about ponies.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

I started watching the show when I was 17, and for my 18th birthday I got a big castle set. It escalated from there. I was a tomboy when I was a kid, so this isn't something I thought I'd ever be interested in!

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

Um. I don't think I have an opinion on this yet.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

Cutie mark, uncut hair, not marked up.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

Yes! It's how I got into collecting, really. I think I like both things equally. The show is definitely a cheaper hobby.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

No, but I am thinking about cosplaying as one of the Equestria Girls sometime.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I don't know! I will have changed so much by then it's hard to know.

thousands :surprisepony:

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1!

G3 Pinkie Pie, G1 Glory

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
N/A I'm single

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
from childhood. my first pony was Baby Dancing Butterflies I got at a thrift store for 25c. As a little girl I wanted to be Pinkie Pie.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
G1 baby newborn unicorn

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
I'm not too picky. I like to refurbish.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I occasionally watch fim, but not always.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to? haha, yeah I've had hot pink hair for 5 years and next year I'm getting G3 Pinkie Pie's cutie mark tattooed

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then? since I've loved it for most my life, i'm sure I still will.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
A little over 200, I think. I know I have about 100 G3s and probably around that many G1s by now, with a small handful of G2s. I haven't counted them in a couple years and have weeded out a couple G3s and gained a couple G1s... Yeah, probably 200-225.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1, no contest. I really adore the G3s though. I think they were a perfect blend of classic G1 style with modern toy trends, and the line started out really strong and creative for the first couple of years. But G1 is just my heart.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

My favorite G3 is Sunny Daze, but I have too many favorite G1s to even narrow it down to 10!

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection?
I already collected when I met my husband. He's also into various nerdy/geeky things, so it didn't strike him as odd when he first found out. He loves how happy they make me. When money gets tight, he insists he consider selling his vintage video game collection before he'll let me sell any of my ponies. Like, I'll insist that I can replace some of them later, but he just say, "No, no, I don't want you selling them even if we have to move back in with our parents. They make you too happy." He doesn't buy me them a lot, though, since we share money. But he always says I can spend more than I budgeted when I want to buy a pony or two. Basically he's really enabling because he likes how happy they make me. (Also his dad collects very old coins, so he understands the collecting "useless things" thing)

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
Ponies have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I had 24 by the age of six or seven, and ALWAYS wanted more, but by then the G1 line had stopped. I moved onto G1 LPS, then books, and so on, but I always loved MLP. I took them out once or twice as a teenager to enjoy them. When the G3s were first out when I was in college, I had just gotten online to ID my old ponies, and I saw about the G3s. I ran out and got Sunny Daze, then a friend sent me a couple G1s she found in her attic, and I officially started collecting.
What interests me? As a kid, I just loved animals and hair play. I've never been into horses per say. I don't remember ever not loving MLP. As an adult collector, I of course am into the nostalgia factor. But I also appreciate the aesthetics and designs and names and all the creativity that went into them.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Favorite G3 pose is the Sunny Daze pose. So cute and energetic, and many of my favorite G3s are in this pose. As for G1, off the top of my head, probably Gusty's and Heart Throb's.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks.
#1 She displays/photographs nicely. This is overall, I know, but it's the main thing. She can have marks in sharpie under her hooves or a tail trim or a scuff to her paint, but if she looks near-mint on the shelf and looks nice in photos, she's usually good enough for me!
#2 No major hair frizz. A little is treatable (especially if it means I get her for a lower price) but sometimes the hair is beyond reparable and that's just a huge NO.
#3 No major glitter loss on symbols. Some is fine, since perfect glittery symbols can drive up the price, but it should still look pretty solid!

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I watched the pilot episode and was REALLY impressed. Definitely the best MLP cartoon that's ever been done. G1 and G3 were fun for kids, but were very much "thirty minute commercials" for toys. I think FiM stands on its own as a cartoon. I don't care much for the toys, I think they lack that sparkle of inspiration that G1 & G3 had. I haven't watched much of the cartoon though because much of the brony community just put a sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing. :\

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I don't have any tattoos yet (at 28 I'm past due, I know!). There's two tattoos, non-MLP, that I know I want, but one day I might get a G1's symbol on my wrist or something. I like that idea. (I LOVE the idea of having a pony's symbol on your hip, which I've seen a few times, but it's not for me)

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I've thought about this and by now, I think I'm going to keep collecting. It's been about ten years now that I've been collecting, and while I go on hiatuses for a while (no room for new ponies, no money, just a lapse in interest), I always come back, and buy ponies once or twice a year at least. <3 By now I think that while I won't always be actively collecting or I might put my ponies in storage at some point, it's a part of me.

Procrastination from typing in Starbucks.... yay!

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

Probably about 150 - 200 by now.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

Generation 1 -- It's what I grew up with.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Out of the ones that I have currently? Masquerade. I just got her... I love her colors! top 3 of all time?

Lickety Split
Masquerade
Paradise

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

He thinks I'm nuts, but supports me anyway. He takes me to my favorite thrift store without my asking now... it has become a weekly ritual. Still have to request the swap shops, though, as one is an over-an-hour drive from my house. He goes with me to BaB, and I just bought him his own Spike doll. I think I'm converting him.... I'm not sure. lol.... He likes it when I'm happy. (Heck, at this present time, *I* like it when I'm happy!)

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

I started collecting when I was little. I always wanted horses of my own. We used to live across a canal from a horse-jumping training place, and in the winter, when the pine trees would drop their needles, I could sit on my bed every day after school and watch the girls jump their horses over fences. It's still one of my favorite things to watch on TV.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

Posey's pose, whichever one that one is. The shy pose is cute, but hard to restore / work with.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

In used ponies....
3 - No chew marks / missing limbs or extremities
2 - No dark / ingrained marks
1 - No cancer, regrind, mold.

All the rest of the quirks are okay, as I think I've become pretty good at restoration and cleaning. :)

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I watch and collect. :)

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

I would love to get a pony tattoo sometime.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

Nope. No selling on my agenda. I'll still be collecting. I've come this far, why stop?

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately): A LOT! ha ha! A couple hundred at least! :smilepony:
2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys? I really like G1, because of the nostalgia it evokes for me! I love the other gens as well, but I wasn't a child when I got them, so I don't have all of the happy memories associated with playing with them.
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time? Top three, oooh! I really like Baby Squirmy, Nightglider, and Chief!
4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate? I am single right now, but my family is sort of annoyed by my ponies! Ha ha, they always complain that I spend too much on them. :cry2:
5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you? Childhood! I've always loved horses (and so did my mom, so I'm sure she encouraged that love!), and I've always loved playing with and collecting toys! I collected Barbies and Breyer Horses too, I think I've just got a collecting gene!
6. What is your favorite pony "pose"? That's a tough one! :surprisepony: Um ... TAF Fifi, because when I was little, I had Mommy Apple Delight, and her pose just always seemed very motherly and affectionate to me! Second one would be Sparkler!
7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1 The condition of the body is #1 for me, hair is #2, and symbols/paint is #3. Hair and paint can be repaired, but you can't fix a missing leg or cancer spots!! :madpony:
8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both? Both!! :satisfied:
9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to? No, but it would be cool to get a tattoo like a symbol! First I'd have to figure out my symbol though...! :shockpony:
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then? I hope I will! I love MLP, and I hope I never get sick of them! I might have completed my collection by then, but maybe I can keep collecting customs, or G6, or whatever we're up to! :winkpony:

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
I've got about 22 regular ponies, and about 20 blind bag/ prize ponies. Of course, that doesn't include the ones I have set aside for sales.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

Hmm, I kinda have favorites from each generation. I just can't narrow it down to one!

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Ah, let's see, Flitter Heart G4, Windy Wisp G3, and uh. . . every other purple pony from the G1 line.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
Welp, I'm single. Most of my friends respect my hobby though.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
Mostly from childhood. I've always had an interest in cute and colorful toys, and ponies seem to fit that so well. Always liked animal toys better than dolls.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
G1's Bridle Beauty's pose,
G3's Windy Wisp pose
G4's Celestia pose

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
Overall, a good presentation, but specifically. . .
1. No marks on the body, or at least a body that has little mess on it.
2. I prefer it if they haven't had a hair cut, but that can be worked with.
3. SMELL. I really don't care for stinky ponies. That can be taken care of, but I'm sensitive to smokey odors.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I love toys, and I love cartoons. So that would be a happy "yes!"

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

Nope, unless you would count outfit colors. Though a wig similar to my pony's mane would be nice.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

If time permits, I'll still be collecting/ restoring ponies and other such toys. Even if I had to part with my collection, I wouldn't be in distress, but it would be nice to pass them on to someone who enjoy them.

There we go!

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
350. but I haven't counted for a while.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G3. I love the colours and brightness. But G1 is special too cause nostalgia.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Kimono, Ribbon and Star catcher.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
N/A.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
Childhood. It was rekindled/started collecting seriously when G4 came around.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Kimono pose or Gusty pose.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
Uncut hair, no mould/cancer and few or no scratches to eyes or cutie marks.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
Both!!

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I'd love a tattoo of the rainbow of light locket, or Princess Luna's cutie mark.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
You'll have to pry these ponies out of my cold, dead hands.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

Currently, about 80 (I think). At all time high, it was 321.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

G1. G1, G1, G1.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Seashell, Gusty, Princess Tiffany--And TicTacToe. And Slugger. Pretty much all the Carousel ponies. And Rainbow ponies. All 82-84 US releases. Sorry. I seriously don't know how people limit themselves to a top 3.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

I don't display them, since I really don't collect any more...it's all my childhood toys. They stay in a box and my husband doesn't divorce me..

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

1983. I was about to turn 7 and *THE* target demographic. I loved my friends' Barbies because of the beautiful hair, But my mom wouldn't let me get them because of the body stereotype issue  . I had every Breyer horse I could get my hands on because I loved horses, but was very frustrated with their hard plastic manes and tales.

And then there was Pretty Pony, with her lovely, long blond Barbie locks. And then Pretty Pony had adorable little friends with lovely, long hair in all my favorite colors. And then my best friend got into em too. It wasn't so much 'getting into it' as divine direction.
Thou Shallt Love Ponies.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

Bubbles and Seashell. Forever and ever.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

N Really A, since I'm not actively collecting anymore, but when I assess a pony to sell (sigh), 1: clean, smooth, factory curly (if applicable) hair, spotless bodies, sharp symbols/eyes/blush. Things like kinda bendy legs are overlookable if the pony looks sharp overall.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I watch when my kids watch, but it's not a must do thing for me. (BTW--my 4yo boy LOVES Rainbow Dash).

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

Ummmm..No. I wear my pony colors on the inside.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I might have my most specialist of the specials (see #3), but I really can't keep hauling a bunch of childhood relics all around the world. That gets kinda spendy.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
Roughly 50, minus my box of baits and fixer-upper ponies. I don't have much space and I move a lot so I have to keep my collection small and trim.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
It's a tie between G1 and G3. G1 because I will always love this toyline from my childhood and they really have the best molds. G3 because they came out with some really breathtakingly gorgeous ponies.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Locket, Strawberry Surprise, Midnight Dream

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
Single, yo! Don't have to please anyone by myself! *dances*

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I have my ponies from childhood which I have always loved. I remember when Ebay came out and I did search for ponies. Alas, I was too young to legally have an ebay account so that idea was dropped for a long time. Years later, several months before FIM came out, I happened upon Pony customs. I read everything I could on how to make them and I began getting into buying ponies I wanted and never got when i was a kid.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Locket's and Gusty's

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
The color scheme of a pony is how I decide to buy one. I have to be picky so to keep my collection small. I don't mind buying dirty ponies because I love to clean them. But I'll often stay away from cancer for a collection grade pony unless it's a hard to find pony for a really great price.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I watched the old pony cartoon from the 80's when I was a little girl. I still think the Nightmare Castle movie is amazing and I wish I could get just that on a dvd single instead of shelling out money for the whole show. I do watch FIM, but it's hardly my favorite animated series.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
No.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I don't think I will ever get rid of my ponies until I'm an old lady. I will probably continue to collect off and on depending on available space and finances for good years to come.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
About 150 ponies, most of them being blind-bag size G4's.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
I adore G4 blind bag size ponies. They are so tiny and cute! Of the classic brushables, I like G1 the best, because they have a powerful nostalgia factor. As a kid, the G1 Petite Ponies were my #1 faves, and they are still very special to me.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
In terms of a specific character, no. I like the G4 characters from the show because I know them the best (I never saw much of the earlier shows or movies, and don't know the ponies as characters), but I don't have a fave. Visually speaking, green and blue ponies top my list, with TeaLove being my favorite of the week. (It changes.)

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
I have no SO, but I do share the house with my mom. Thankfully she is very supportive and doesn't mind there being ponies all over the place. She has even adopted a few of mine and made them her own!

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
My Granny started collecting for me. She bought me the entirety of my childhood herd, part of which I still have. I "grew out of" ponies for a long while, but began collecting again just recently, when I discovered the G4 minifigures and fell in love with them.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
I like "action" poses, like the Truly Pose (rearing) or the Firefly Pose ("takeoff" pose, lol!). I think the Newborn Tappy Pose (bent front knees, rear in the air) is adorable! All of those examples are G1, I know, but the idea applies to all Gens. The more active and interesting the pose is, the better!

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
I like my ponies to be as minty as possible, so all three of those things are important considerations. I almost never buy brushables, so when I do I want them in really good condition. I'm a bit more forgiving when it comes to mini figures (which make up the bulk of my collection), and will take almost anything I don't already have, with the idea that I can always "upgrade" later.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I really like FiM, and enjoy watching it. I had seen one or two episodes before I discovered the mini ponies, but once I began collecting I got curious and did an archive binge of the show. After that I was hooked.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I don't have anything like that myself, but I think it's cool when other people do it.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I still have collections I started in my teens, and portions of collections I started as a kid. I've inherited my Granny's doll collection, too. Even when I stop actively collecting something, I tend to hang on to it. So I may not be collecting in 20 years, but I'll probably still have most of the ponies I'm gathering together now.

This is a fun thread! It's neat to see how everyone answers these. :smilepony:

What a fun thread! The answers are all so interesting. I'm always curious about my fellow Ponyholic.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

Man... who knows, who knows. A legion, perhaps? 600, maybe 700 I think. Pretty sure that makes me a hoarder. You don't wanna know how many cats I have, either.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
Cant I just say 'all'? Chosing might hurt somepony's feelings! :smilepony:

In the end, it would be G1s, the gen that started it all with me. Any gen is good with me though, big headed 3.5s, teeny little G4s, hard to find G2s. Love 'em all.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Minty, Minty, Minty!
Baby Tappy
Seashell
All these decisions save Minty may change at my whim.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

My partner of 11 years and I are both Ponyholics, though I am the greedier of us. :D We mix them all together then joke we have to stay together regardless of any troubles "for the sake of our four legged children".

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

As a young girl I went into a unicorn mania and never recovered. I was a big fantasy/scifi reader, so I found it easy to saturate my wee life with lovely mythological beasties. That interest has ne'er waned.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

I love the G1 'sitting' pose that Seashell and Bubbles are in. I just think they look super extra adorable.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

I try to get good hair, bright colour and clean paint, but really I buy any Pony I can afford. If they aren't perfect, I clean them up. I love restoring them.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I'm a huge animation fan, so I've watched all the Pony series at least once. My fave is FIM.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

I have a G1 Minty on my hip. Why, I really can't say. Just a spur of the moment event (and a sober one, believe it or not!)

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

Absolutely. I'm incredibly loyal to my fandoms. I've never cooled towards my comics, Star Trek or anything else, so it's highly unlikely my Ponies will end up anywhere but with me. I do sometimes worry what will happen to them after we die. I know that sounds weird, but they're like fmaily members some of them. I talk to them, play with them and have for years. I guess it feels like they've taken on something of my energy and are little entities unto themselves. Hopefully my son will still be a Brony and will take on my herd. Otherwise, I'll make sure to will them to my niece. Pretty sure she's a Ponyholic for life like me!
