Who are the "Oldie Moldies"?

it feels like i have been around forever sometimes :)

I joined the boards way back when, then they redid the tp and we all lost out post counts.

alot of colectors have just stopped collecting and sold there stuff. plus alot of the older message boards are gone.

I don't really collect anymore, no more room plus everytime i move across the country I end up selling or loosing 1/2 of my stuff :violin:but i still have hundres of ponies

Wow! It's nice to see some familiar names again. I though everyone disappeared while I was gone.

I started my adult collecting in 1998, I was pony free for only about 6 months of my life. I joined the old MLPTP in 2000, and quit posting when I though the whole board was going to shut down. I moved on to Pony Island for a while, left when they did a major overhaul on that one. I then I fell off the face of the earth for 6 years. I never really made it over the MLP Arena but I post there rarely.

I'm back, actually to sell most of my collection. I may collect again one day, but my poor old ponies just sit in boxes, and I really just hate the new ponies that hasbro is putting in the stores. Between those two things, it's just really sad and takes the fun out of it. I always look at walmart, TRU and Target once a month but they haven't made anything that I like in years. Plus Ebay stinks now.

One name I have not heard or seen since coming back "Roy and Lea" and I'm glad for it.

I discovered ebay in the late 90's. But it was mostly thrifts, flea markets and yardsales that I collected from. I started selling on ebay over ten years back, and one of my buyers told me to join the TP. Before that I wasn't exactly interested to "meet" any collectors, I was more interested in amassing my own collection. but some of my repeat buyers were so lovely, and always had the nicest things to say. I thought what the hey, maybe I will enjoy a forum. :unicorn:

Aadra and I started collecting (as opposed to "buying in the store" because they weren't in the stores anymore) when we were 12 or 13. The summer between 6th and 7th grade, I think. OMG, the utter JACKPOTS we would hit at the flea markets back then.

I joined here in 2005 to sell my collection but I stayed on and began collecting again. I have more ponies now than I ever did!

I'm still fairly new on here but I've been collecting ponies since I was a kid in the 80s. When I was six I had over a hundred ponies and could name every one of them.

OMG roy and lea LOL. wow. We're talking OLD now lol!

Jewel if you're starting to fossilize... I fear for myself! haha

I guess I've been around since........ somewhere ... 2000 maybe? It was high school when I first showed up on the scene ;)

I was on the old boards too and started collecting in 1996 around a couple years before I stopped watching MLP tales and then started collecting :)

Been collecting since i was a kid but i've been online since late 2003 early 2004. I was here when we had the old TP board lol :)

Oh fardreamer you are hilarious!

ya'll aren't "old" or "moldy" simply = the wise ones = who knew waaaaay back to be a part of this amazing phenom called MLP collecting ;-)

I don't know how long it is since I first came here.... I want to come back but its hard now... I left my husband and had to sell part of my collection off, when I started a new life I left the old one behind...

I have been collecting since G1s were on the shelf at Toys'r'us. I still have my childhood collection and then some. I remember buying G1s regularly at garage sales too. I ignored the g2 and got rehooked on the g3s. I am enjoying the g4s too. I have been on the internet collecting ponies since maybe 2001.

Old Canadian Lady

I've only joined this year but I've been collecting since '86. My mom bought me my first pony and I've been in love ever since. :)

I've been a collector since I was a kid (late '80s). I never really got into G2, but they're growing on me. My Little Pony was one of the first things I searched for when we got the internet in 1999. I found the TP but never joined.

I was one of the leaders of Bolt.com's My Little Pony Girls club and joined Pony Finders in 2003. I finally registered at the TP when it moved in '05, and I joined the Arena a couple of months later.

So neat to hear everyone's stories. I'm an oldie although you wouldn't be able to tell from my post count. I never feel that what I have to say is important enough to post or my sentiments have already been captured in better words by others. I've been collecting G1's since my first Cotton Candy, whenever it was that the originals came out and was instantly hooked. Even though I had an inactive collecting period during my teen years, I would never have dreamed of getting rid of any of my ponies.

I've been collecting since they first came out. My first was Cotton Candy (I still have her and all my childhood ponies 8)). I came on the TP back in the old days, around 1999/2000 I believe. I don't talk too much, but I participated in Wolfie's first 3 photo hunts back in the day :eek:k: I moved over here in 2005, but still didn't talk much.

Then life happened and I stopped collecting (thankfully I kept almost all my babies, just selling my 5 MIBs in a vain attempt to save my credit, lesson learned never get a credit card with a new boyfriend). After filing bankruptcy in 2008 I just didn't feel that I deserved any fun stuff.

Last year after having my 2 year old Kia Sportage totalled, I got a good tax refund (and settlement check from the idiot that hit me's insurance). I started recollecting again. I started with the flutters (with their wings) and it kinda morphed into an all out obsession :allecto:
Now I'm a much happier pony person and have no man telling me what to spend my money on:gonnagetit:

I probably still won't post as much, but I'll be lurking :nanana:

Bri ;)

LOL.....I dunno.....I am still 32 years of age.....almost...and I mean almost 33....
my collection as a child is what keeps me going and then having 3 kids.....2 are girls.....PUSHED me
to recollecting and expanding my childhood collection...........lol......sooooooooooooooooooo
