Ok, so while prepping more of the herd for their travel to ebay, I came across two windy's...and they are SO not the same color. One most certainly is the purple windy we all know and love, while the other...a not so purple windy. After asking a few people here at home, they agreed...one was white, one was purple. The white one doesn't have faded symbols or paint, so it's not a faded purple windy...but I guess my question is...

What makes a white windy, a white windy? Is there a diff stamp on the hoof? Or is it simply that, just a white windy?

and just cuz om like this lil smiley! :ded_moroz:

From what I understand, this fabled "white Windy" is just faded. The one I have from childhood is snowy white. Inside her neck seam is white as well, which can be a bit confusing. I know she was purple at one time though.

Like SS said, some people believe "white" Windy's have blue symbols. But I too have seen lavender Windy's with blue symbols, and vice versa.

interesting to read this.

I'm on the fence about this one. I bought "white Windy" a few years back and I have to say I'm not entirely convinced she is just a faded pony. Her symbol is blue and the inside of her neck as well as the inside of her body is pure white. I just don't think that could happen to her whole body if she originally started out as purple. Every white Windy that I know of has a blue symbol so that would lead me to believe that if she is indeed just faded, then those with blue symbols were made out of a different kind of plastic, maybe one that is more prone to fading......maybe but I'm just not convinced. I used to think if someone had one MOC that would solve the mystery but the fading rumors would still continue:) It is fun to try to figure out the mystery though!

The inside of the neck matches the rest of the body :(

I'm SOOOOO not sure what to do now with it lol I'm not really a collector anymore, so I know I'll sell her... but I'm scared to put it on E-bay as "White Windy" if it's not, on the same token I don't want to give it away for $1 if it truely is a white windy

Ponies are like men... so frustrating

This is a really interesting subject. I almost wonder if its a possibility that there was a white batch made by accident. Or possibly b/c they didn't add enough lavender at the time.

B/c I know there's color variations of other ponies like Bowtie. Some really dark blue, some lighter blue.

Just a thought..... :)

I was a staunch anti-existence of white windy person, I mean, it seems like ALL those threads saying 'is this faded or variant or nirvana of suchnsuch a pony?' are just SO much ridiculousness, but, at least in terms of windy being white, I didn't think so...until I bought a white Bluebelle, and read about HER and had her in my hands. And now, I'm leaning towards the existence of white windy. Although I don't know for sure.

Yeah, mine looks like that one there. I never would have bought her if it weren't for the fact that I actually got her in person, from Sweettune at the MD fair. I mean like, I never would have bought her online just from pictures.

I thought about it after that and it seems like, assuming White Windy exists for real, then yes, she could be faded, like as in, some Windy's made with whatever dye batches over here, they fade to white, and some windy's are made with better dye batches that don't fade. But that is totally hypothetical.

I recently bought a white windy from another member here. I read all the articles on the internet about her being genuine or not so I was slightly sceptical. I ordered a "Normal" Windy at the same time so that I could judge them together. There is no doubt in "my" mind that White Windy is real!! The difference in the colours between the two is so obvious when you see them together. I just don't see how a pony could fade so evenly all over, even under the feet! And when you open the head and look inside she is as pure white inside as on the outside.
I was a sceptic but now I'm a believer:050:

Here's a photo of my white windy; who is only faded. But she is faded all the way through.

She looked like the "real" one to me, and most of the other people I asked too.

I'm still skeptical that the real ones actually exist.

Wow, all these "Yes white windy, no white windy" stories make me glad I put her on as being a POSSIBLE white windy lol

I'm not sure where I stand either. I KNOW she isn't the same color as the other windy I have, I just can't decide why haha

Does anyone have a white Windy with a purple symbol? As far as I know all white Windy's have blue symbols. If white Windy is actually a faded purple Windy it seems logical that there would be some with purple symbols. Unless the blue symboled Windy's are made from a different kind of plastic.....but that doesn't make a lot of sense since there are some purple Windy's with blue symbols. So confusing! All I know is that my white Windy is pure white. Not cream, not off white and certainly not purple hued. Until she can be proved to be a faded version, I will continue to be a staunch white Windy believer. And if only my stupid digital camera worked I would take a picture of her next to my purple Windy to show you all.

I have a very pale Windy that I thought may be white, but in the end I've decided she's faded, because I put her next to Starshine, who IS white and the colour was definitely different, Starshine is a much brighter, starker white.

I have a white Windy as well. She has purple symbols instead of blue. I know for sure she's white because her vinyl has yellowed as many white pony's do.
Personally I believe in white Windy because of her yellowed color.
My Windy needs some TLC to become a nice white again :)
I can post pics of her current state tommorrow if you guys want.

I thought I too had a white windy. Next to my purple windy she did look white but next to my other white ponies you can see an almost bluish tint. My purple windy has purple glitter and purple under her glitter (you can see from where it rubbed) where my not so white, white windy has a bright blue glitter.
I believe in white windy! She is out there somewhere!!!!
Xxx
