Where are the ponies??

Have pony sales in Canada come to a standstill, or am I in a negative pony zone?? :? I haven't seen any new ponies since Christmas! Maybe the stores around here just really suck. Any other Canucks having pony hunting problems?

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. Here was my experience this morning when I phoned Hasbro about it. This came from a previous post:

Okay, so I phoned them and actually got to talk to a real person right away. It was a woman, and she asked for my postal code and then started asking me what I wanted.

So I explained to her how Canada has been behind on most new MLP products that have already been released everywhere else monthes before. Then she asked me if there were any specifics that I was looking for.

First, I told her that I was mainly looking for Hidden Treasure - the new Pegasus pony that comes with the DVD "Friends Are Never Far Away". However, she said they had no such title on record. She had never heard of Hidden Treasure, nor was it in the computer.

Okay, so my next question. "What about Coconut Grove?", I asked. She looked it up, and told me that Coconut Grove has not been released yet and will be released in August. But I told her that almost everyone in the US have already found her, but she still protested that she had not yet been released.

I asked about Island Delight then. She said that Island Delight had been released ever since June and I should be seeing her in stores. I told her that I was a member of the MLPTP; I also told her I hadn't seen her, nor has anyone else in Canada and how we have been discussing it all in this thread for a while. She seemed to understand what I was talking about, but still said the same old thing about the releases.

So now I'm getting a little confused. Does this lady really have her story straight? :?

So lastly, I decided to ask about Cloud Climber - my grail G3 Pegasus other than Hidden Treasure. Here again, she told me that Cloud Climber had been released in Canada since June and should be in stores.

Then I told her that Cloud Climber just barely made it off of WIA and that I had been told she would be released much later this year. She still protested and said that she was already released.

Now very confused, I told her that Coconut Grove was the first Pegasus to be released and that almost everyone in the US has found her already. But once again, she said that Coconut Grove will be released in August.

So I said thanks and hung up, still scratching my head. Is there something fishy going on here, or is that just me? Is Canada supposed to have a whole different release schedule than the US? Is our releases getting really backed up, or what? :?

Oh wow Yuixe, that does sound like a bizarre conversation you had there! It's funny that she protested, since other places are getting the ponies in. But she probably only knows what is on her computer screen. I do hope all the ponies you are looking for arrive soon!
 
I think the customer service people at Hasbro are very, very confused.

These are the same people who used to answer questions about MLPs with information about Littest Pet Shop, keep in mind . . . ;)

i think hasbro canada and hasbro US have separate system and different inventory in their system, because i called for the german seaside babies and the US have no idea what I was talking about, lolz.

Canada is always behind. Like vin21 said, we are on a different schedule. We will get them, it just takes months.
 
Here it's all a mess! Some stores are stuck on the first Butterfly Island ponies (1st 2 scooters, dazzle bright and shimmer), and that's the *new* stuff... the closest store to my house still has all the Friendship Ball ponies!!!

Oh, and I was forgetting! Customer services were like "oh just wait and see, wait and see... we will get a LOT of new ponies any day now.... in the meantime... have you seen the new Star Wars figures" :yoda:

Hmm... do you think maybe the stores have the new ones in the back and are just waiting until all of the old stuff on the shelves get clearanced? Do you think if I went to TRU and asked if they had them in the back - do you think they would go and look for me and let me buy one if they had them? :?

Oh, I really hate being Canadian... *wails* :cry: :cry: :cry:

I doubt they even have new ones in the back yet. I just went to TRU tonight and they had restocked with Golden Delicous and crew, which I had not seen in awhile. For the ponies I really want, I usually end up getting here or on ebay.
