I'm clueless about the G1 ponies, but I'm trying to learn! I know Mimic, Hollywood (w/ wings), and Rapunzel are either rare/expensive-who else is on that list? Just curious.
US ponies only, I'm not even going to TRY to learn the others yet!

Also, I'm trying to identify my childhood ponies-there were 2 baby ponies that I think came together. One was pink w/ a white bib symbol and pink hair, I think her name was Tiddlywinks, and then a light purple baby w/ I think ballerina shoes symbol and blue hair-don't remember her name. What kind of ponies were these? Were they mail order or did they come w/ a set?
Thanks :D

Yes, the pony with the bib symbol is Tiddly Winks. There were 2 of these one with Beddy-Bye-Eyes and one with regular eyes. The one with BBE I believe came with the Baby Bonnet School of Dance and the other came with the nursery. The other baby pony with the ballet slippers is baby Half-Note, she too came with BBE and regular eyes. Both types came with the school of dance. Also both of the non-BBE had freckles. I do not remember if you could purchase them separately from the playsets, I would assume you could.

Lots of the Mail Orders fetch a fairly high price. Mommy and Baby Pony, Sweet Scoops (especially with charm). Mountain Boy ponies from the UK can also go very high.

Sounds like you're describing Baby Tiddlywinks and Baby Half-Note. Tiddlywinks came with the Lullabye Nursery, and Half-Note with the Baby Bonnet School of Dance. Both came in Beddy-Bye-Eye versions and regular versions, and I believe both could be bought alone in mail order pamphlets in the US.

Rarity is a G3 styling pony that isn't released yet..unicorn and the first for G3 lines.

I would say anything MOC,MIP is pricey obviously

Dream Beauties with their wings

Punzie

so soft sleepy newborns get up there depending on which one.

Mimic eh shes up and down $50-$70 if shes got her brush,ribbon or backcard.

I could be wrong on some of these.

I thought Mimic was up to $90. Hope she's down again! Or, down at all.

I second the Newborn thing. I love mine to bits and pieces and the end of the earth, and paid $130 for two, and that's with only 1 accessory between the two of them. This past summer, TraderTiff had a COMPLETE Sweet Dreams (I think, I get them confused :? ) and she only sold for like $70 or $80. Still kicking myself for letting her get away.

Also, So Soft (the fuzzy ponies) Satin N' Lace is pretty pricey too. Not only is she rare, she has all that flocking to worry and fuss about. She's up in the $100 range, give or take depending on condition and accessories.

Mail Orders as a general rule are more expensive.
Also...
Mimic-Twinkle Eye
Crumpet-So Soft
Angel-So Soft
Wigwam WITH his complete head dress and bandana
Twice As Fancy (TAF) Buttons
Night Glider
adult Stockings, but she's included in the pricey Mail Orders (MO)
Confetti, Pinwheel and Starflower aren't super cheap, but they're the cheapest ones in my list so far, at $10-$18 each.

A MINT, MINT MINT, perfect beyond perfect Moondancer and Glory fetch hefty prices. $20 or $30 each for a common pony is what I'd call hefty. Otherwise, they're usually really grubby and go for $4 or $6.

the second set of adult Sea Ponies...White Cap, Sea Mist etc. are pretty HTF (Hard to Find)

Certain babies can be more than a handful of dollars.
*scratches head* that's all I can come up with for expensive ponies. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

The TAF babies {especially all 6} can leave a nice hole in your pocketbook. A couple months ago on German eBay someone bought them for $1,000. Usually though, they're about $50-65 each. Last time I saw them on regular eBay, I think they went for about $500 all together {some of them had their ribbons}.

Second edition Sea ponies are really difficult to put a quota on. I've seen them sell anywhere from $40-250. If they have their ribbons or combs, obviously they go for more.

SS Twilight with pink hair and beautiful flocking can go pretty high, varying greatly on how much the person wants her. I've seen her sell for $65 before. Same with Angel.

Second edition {always seems like the 2nd issue ponies sell for more..} Princess with their crown clip ONLY can range from $30-60. First editions with accessories and nice tinsel can fetch up to that much {I think a complete Princess Serena went for about 65 the other day}.

Flutter ponies seem to be a big focus right now. I know a Forget-Me-Not with her original wings is on eBay right now and she's selling for $150. Rosedust sold for about $60 with original wings today, and one with Repro wings sold for about $90 a few days ago.

Uhh. Who else..

Oh! Windy wing/Summer wing ponies are pretty pricey lately, too. Average pricing for WW/SW is about $25-30, depending on the condition of their wings. But as of late {on eBay} they've been going crazy amounts.

MO Tux n' Tails {about $70+}
Baby Brother Leaper {I think around $40?}
Big Brother Chief {if he's complete, $40+}
Flutter pony Pink Dreams {with wings, $35+}

Yeah, that's all I can think of right now that hasn't been mentioned. Hope this helps!

[edit*] OH! MO Lil Sweetcake Lil Cupcake, Baby Gametime and Baby Sugarcake {especially with their accessorires!}, and the 6 Pearlized baby ponies can go high too.

The mail order Ponies Scribbles and Dabble can
go very high especially when Dabble has still the green in it´s hair which is often faded to white.
I paid ca. 100 US $ each.

Oops, I meant Mimic, not Rarity!

also merry go round Diamond Dreams is pricey.

Mimic like I said I could be wrong sometimes she goes over $100, depends how nice she is and whats included.

the baby pearlized mermaid ponies I a bit rarer

Baby jewelery ponies fetch more with accessories.

okay, gotta clear this up because it got a few different stories up there..

Pink with bib is Tiddlywinks. According to DreamValley (which many people, especially Taffeta says is not the most reliable source) there were three batch releases of the nursery. All three had Baby Tiddlywinks, but two versions had regular eyes and one had BBEs. If you have NBBE Tiddlywinks WITHOUT freckles on her nose, she's the mail order 'playset pony' version.

Half Note came with the School of Dance, if she's the BBE version. If she has regular eyes she's the mail order playset pony.

If you had both of these playsets that's obviously where they came from. If not, they were the mail orders.
