Hi there,
Alright, here's my novel (lol):
Well, when I was a kid my first pony was Heart Throb, if I remember correctly. A couple years later I gave her away. But she stayed with who I gave her to, and after years and years of staying in that friend's basement, we are now reunited at last!
(She's the only one that was spared from the yard-sale-of-doom so long ago...
)
However, my first pony when I started collecting was Star Swirl. I went to Wal-Mart one day and was looking for Neopets stuff. They didn't have anything new - so while I was waiting for my parents to get back to the toy section to pick me up, I began aimlessly browsing around.
I had a few spare dollars. Absent-mindedly I wandered into the girly section. Then I saw the ponies.
There were two of them - one yellow (Butterscotch), and one white (Star Swirl). The white one had that rain-coat on that I had seen in the commercial! I started pondering. Then I picked it up and looked it over very carefully. I wasn't interested in the yellow one because at that point I only liked white ponies, lol. And there was one left of that certain one... and I had enough money... decisions, eh? =P
So then my dad came back and saw me looking at the pony. He was like: "You're not into those, are you?" and I told him that I had seen the commercial and remembered having a few as a child. I shrugged and told him I didn't
really like them, and I was just looking around. He told me to make up my mind and he walked away to see where my brother was. But I kept on putting the pony down and coming back. I kinda' felt stupid, but I kept thinking. Then when I asked a Wal-Mart lady to get a Sunset Sweety down for me from a high shelf, she asked me if I liked ponies. I said: "Yeah, I guess. They're okay... but I'm just looking."
But I still liked the white one. Finally I gave in. I had enough money, so I bought it. I felt really strange though, and I kept telling my dad that I was only getting this one to try it out. Ha! Whatever! :roll: *looks at shelf of over 120 ponies*
And the rest is history! After I found out about the collecting community, I didn't feel so strange anymore. Now, I don't feel strange at all. It's so awesome being a pony-collector. I'm so glad I didn't decide to only stick to having that
one pony.
My Star Swirl is very precious to me now. I take her with me everywhere, lol. And now it makes me think:
What if I hadn't bought Star Swirl that one day?
Hehe, the world may never know. ^_^
