But she cleaned up nice. I boiled her and her head went back to normal. She still has tail rust tho.

Try lemon juice against tail rust, works well without affecting the hair color. Just put the rusted tail in a glass of lemon juice and leave it there for 12-24 hours or more, depending on the amount of rust.
Dry out the tail well, because the rust can easily come back if the tail is put back in too soon.
