i came home with a toy grab bag I bought at the thrift store. In there was the MLP hot air balloon. The twins loved it. So to keep peace I had to go to eBay and buy a second balloon so they each had one. They love anything with lights and music. From there I found the Ferris wheel and had to buy 2 of those. Then I found a MLP house. It had a mailbox on the front of the house with a little piece of mail. That was it. The twins became obsessed with delivering the mail and fought over that one piece of mail. Now I know I'm doomed and must have 2 of everything. And that is how I ended up with 233 ponies and two of most playsets. I know I am terrible and should have taught them sharing but I'm a sucker for cute faces. And now these adorable twins have abandoned the ponies in favor of the calico critter treehouse and dollhouse. And it is up to me to find these ponies new forever homes. I hope not to disappoint them.

I'm sure the ponies will find good homes.

It's a really cute story how you started by buying one thing and then it spiraled into a full on collection. I think that's true for how a lot of us around here started collecting :)

It was never meant to be a collection. I just kept buying as ponies got lost or covered in jelly or had their hair tortured or they got colored on. Needless to say I spoil the twins rotten. However I did purchase the entire collection of briarberry bears which they still play with and then I spent a fortune to acquire a complete collection of calico critters. Now they love these critters, but you realize their countless hundreds of accessories are smaller than your thumbnail, literally, and that drives me nuts. I look forward to the day they outgrow these little critters, cute as they may be, but they are so tiny they are downright dangerous around small children who could put them in their mouth. I had this grand idea to build a complete village and even had an 8 foot table custom made just to build a critter panorama. I've invested a few thousand dollars here, but at my age, between bad eyesight and arthritis I can't even pick up these tiny little pieces. Oh well they enjoy them and are having fun. So much for my grand idea. I should have stayed true to my heart and stuck with Winnie the Pooh my first love. And I do still love Winnie. If only I could build my own replica of the hundred acre wood in my backyard. That would be heaven
