Hi all.
What kind of collector are you?

Do you want MINT ponies or are you not as picky (like me).
I'm just curious.

Don't get me wrong. I love a nice condition pony. But I'd rather have one in okay condition than not at all :)

If its a US pony with a non glittery symbol, the hair must be perfect. Even if the symbol isnt quite so perfect. If its glittery, the whole pony must be MINT. Perfect hair and perfect dark glittery symbol. Straight off card.
If its a rare pony, I'm still picky about hair. lol If its a rare pony with bad hair and perfect or VGC pony, bring it on! Saves me money and rehairing and repinking a Tornado is cheaper than paying $100 for a perfectly pink haired one!

I'd love to have all mint ponies and I do try to upgrade when I have the chance. But if I don't have it, it's ratty and fills a whole in a set and super cheap I will buy it. I'll just end up replacing it later on when I can find a better one.

I used to not be picky...I'd take ponies with haircuts and marker marks and display them next to my mint ponies.

Lately I've become more picky. I've realized some of my ponies have got smooze on them I have not noticed... and nasty ponies don't really look nice on the shelf. I'm semi-picky I supposed. I'd like to take mint ponies If I can.

Sometimes I'm really picky and sometimes I'm not. I think it all depends on the pony in question. I can't spend as much as I'd like on my collection, so I just try to get them in good displayable condition or better when I can. I prefer for them not to have any kind of pony cancer (just nasty I say!) or highlighter 'saddle rub' marks. A little haircut is okay long as I'm told before I buy it (so I can make a note of it). I'd like the symbol to be at least 3/4 visable or glittery.

I´m a very picky collector. I only want mint or near mint ponies in my collection. I would wait 2 years to get a pony in great condition. When I know, I would maybe see a pony never again, beacause it´s very rare, I would take it in bad condition.

I love ponies either way, if it's one i really want, I'll pay anything, but if there's one I dont, or even one I do laying around dirty with no tail and mangled hair, I'll pick her up just to take care of her :D

I am extremely picky. I want all the ponies, but I also only want them if they are as near mint as possible. I want glittery symbols, curly hair, no mold, etc. If a pony that I have has mold or is otherwise damaged enough that I can't fix her (I don't have too much skill at restoring ponies), then I trade/sell her away and start looking for another.

With these standards, I don't think I'll end up even close to having them all, lol, but at least I'll have them in the conditions I really want.

I'm firstly and foremost a completist. It's not enough to just collect the things I like; I must have a complete set. It's the same mentality as finishing a puzzle. Since I can't collect EVERYTHING MLP, I limit my complete sets to different sub-collections like US ponies, UK ponies, German ponies, plus their accessories, one of each color of comb/brush that I can get, any and all brochures I can find, US pony sticker, G1 plushes, G3 ponies and playsets, etc. I don't collect much miscellaneous merchandise or any G2 stuff, so I'm not a total completist.

I'm sort of picky, more now than I used to be, but I will take a damaged pony if it completes a sub-collection and try to upgrade later. I usually pass on ponies with cut hair or obvious marks though.

I collect anything and everything that is MLP!!! But if I find something in better condition than what I already have I will replace it :D

Mint ponys are for people with OCD's. I just love ponys.

I collect any pony I don't have in any condition at all. Even if it's what some people call "custom bait". Sometimes I don't see anything wrong with a "bait" pony...a lot of people are just so picky. I just want to own the pony, and worry about upgrading at some other point.

I'm not overly picky with most of my ponies, but I am with my sea ponies, and most of my mail orders. With the sea ponies, it's mostly because I wanted good ID pics for my site. With the MOs, most of them were a little pricier, and I don't want to pay for something not in good condition. :)

Of course, I would love them all to be mint, but if it's not, I'll take it for a stand-in. :) Up-grades can always come later. ;)

For rarer Ponies, though, I'm more picky - I don't wanna pay good money for a rareity if it's in sorry condition. I prefer to pay a bit more for those, and get a really nice one. :)

The only thing I'm picky about really is the hair.... has to be the correct length and color.... ever thing else just depends on the pony itself! ^_^ lol

Hi there,

I grab anything that I can find! Anything at Flea Markets - even the baity-est ponies work for me! :D

Although sometimes if I'm looking for a certain pony (e.i: my Mimic) I'd like it to be in better condition. Y'know? :D

I'm not very picky. My biggest pet peeve is bad hair though.
I'll pretty much take any pony, as long as it's not missing body parts.

I take pretty much whatever I can get. Baity or Mint. (althought I'd loooove to stumble upon a pile of cheap mint ponies! :D) My collection ranges from VERY CB to near mint. But none of them have cost me more than $9. So I think I'm doing well. :)
