What is that one pony memory that makes you the most happy? My best memory was when my parents and me were playing with my ponies, I was really little, (like 4-ish) and we were playing with Kimono and Rarity. For some reason it's always stuck with me.

I remember when I first got Star Catcher with the VHS tape of "Dancing in the Clouds." I watched it on the old TV in the basement and got so excited over the introduction of pegasus ponies. So I went out to my driveway and spun around in dizzy circles, making flying motions with Star Catcher and singing the MLP theme song. It was such a pure moment. Star Catcher is pretty worn out these days, with tangled hair and marks on her body, but I don't dare make any restoration efforts on her. Those memories are just too precious.

That sounds amazing. Some ponies I leave too, because the marks are memories on they're own. Is Dancing in the Clouds your favorite g3 special?

Ponies have always been part of my play and so are a huge part of my childhood memories.

My favorite is probably from around age 12 or so. My best friend and I had started recording our pony play on cassette tapes, like radio dramas. Complete with commercial breaks for ridiculous items and services. We had a whole sound effects area going on and everything. One of these play times the ponies were doing something that required a loud crash! I had a jam jar full of pens and pencils that made a great noise when rattled... well... the time for the crash sound came, my best friend grabs the jar of pens to rattle it... she got a little over zealous and the next thing we know there are writing utensils flying every which way through the air! We are laughing beyond control, we stopped the cassette recorder and probably took us a good 10 minutes to clear the mess and get ourselves under control.

The crash sound on the tape WAS epic though!

The event itself wasn't actually that funny, it was just the timing of the whole situation that had us chuckling about it for years. I still have the recording and a few years ago put it onto a CD and sent it to her for her birthday.

Lasting friendships made through pony play. :ponylove:

Waking up on Christmas morning when I was 7 and getting the dream castle.

It's a toss up for me. Receiving my first pony, Butterscotch in 1983 was apparently life altering and would start a life long love affair with the plastic. I also remember loving my sea ponies to death, because I was a water baby and the adventures were more fun in the bath.

I used to take all my ponies in the bath. There was such a magical feeling of playing with their colorful hair underwater. Unfortunately my mom got rid of them cause they got gross from the water. I imagine sea ponies being really fun to take to the beach!

I used to act out elaborate detective plots with my ponies. G1 Firefly or G3 Rainbow Dash were usually the detectives, and they would try to solve murder mysteries or catch monsters (GI Joes) in the midst of some nefarious plots. I remember one day a GI Joe kidnapped a Barbie and held her hostage in the toy box, and our intrepid hero had to rescue her before a bomb exploded!

I really miss the freedom of playing like that.

The first pony I remember getting was Cherries Jubilee, my Dad worked at a grocery store at the time and my mom and I had stopped by the store for some reason. We were in the back stock area and my Dad had bought me a surprise. I can still almost visualize him reaching up on top of one of the pallets of product and handing me the package. I was probably only about 5 but this is my first pony memory.

I also remember being a kid and we went to Florida for a vacation, at some point my parents got a hold of my Dancing Butterflies and were batting it back and forth monkey-in-the-middle style.....I'm surprised I don't need therapy LOL imagine the betrayal!

I remember going to the river and playing with Sea Breeze in the water, I always thought she was so pretty!

Those are just some childhood memories, as an adult collector I have so many more. They really do bring me good memories, I've thought once or twice if something tragic happened and I lost all of my collection I don't know if it would be the same just replacing them all with insurance money. So many were gifts, awesome finds, or have some story behind them, it just wouldn't be the same.

There's nothing wrong with playing with them! I know being older it isn't the same. I know some people roleplay with them. I was playing with my ponies until I was 14.
