So I got to thinking most of the time I am on a budget with regards to buying ponies but recently I went a wee bit crazy and bought a pony I had been after for years. She came to £50 including shipping. (Thats $100 I think) I know its expensive but she is rare and I had to have her.
I imagine people would pay high money for the rarer ponies. Just trying to justify her price with myself and see if other pony people have paid similar prices.

Hi there! I've moved this to MLP Discussion for you :)

I think you'll easily find people who spend several hundred dollars on a single pony--myself included! My most expensive one came to $530.00, but that's nothing compared to what some people have paid for rares like Greek ponies. ;)

Scary enough my MOC Mimic only set me back $20 more than my mint Rapunzel with her hair clips at $570. $375 is my next highest for my MIB Princess Sparkle. Since the ponies I collect are mostly vintage in the box right now, I have plenty of time to scrape together some cash in between purchases for the more expensive ones when a grail comes up;)

Heh. I don't get a big enough paycheck yet to afford most ponies.
The most I've spent one a pony, including shipping, was about $45.
It was Princess Sparkle with all her accessories.

I bought a Mimic for $70 but realize now that it was way too much money as her mane is about half cut off and there is a "6" written on her bum and under one hoof

the most I have spent personally is $150 each for my 3 MOC Greek rainbows, but my husband has spent $250 on an Alternate Birthflower pony for me, that i don't get till my birthday in September. :D

mine is 25 + shipping for my Tex..... :)

$140 for my MIB Bay Breeze.

$200 (above or below, best I can remember) for 3 MOC Alitas Wingers for the TOTAL price from 1 seller.

Not as much as others have spent but enough to make me cringe when I consider our tight budget, LOL. On average, my expensive ponies are $40-50 :)

My Argentina Feliz Navidad pony set me back about 200.00. But she was my grail of grails and if I had to would have spent whatever. I think every now and then you deserve to go a little crazy.

I agree! Life is full of crappy days..... and innocent pleasures from a collecting hobby and getting something you never dreamed you could or knew would be forever before you could because you finally can..... maybe because you got unplanned money or a tax refund or SOMETHING outta the blue.

WOW

It's a rush and makes everything better. Just because......

I'm actually glad NOT to be able to buy every pony or other collecting stuff I have, because ponies/ect would no longer be grails or goals to dream of. The joy would go away and it would be just another possesion..... You know?

Everyone should spend a teensy bit more on a dream pony EVERY so often, even if only rarely, just because. *smile*

I just purchased, only received her yesterday, a precious sweetie baby, Licorice. I spent $90 for her. She is beautiful. She is the most I have spent for a pony to date.

The most I ever spent was for a NM Mimic for $120. I know I paid too much but I really wanted that pony in my collection

I have a hard time plopping down a ton of money on a single pony. Ny highest spent to date was $15 on my Barnacle!

Of course.. I'm the kind that would rather buy borderline baity ponies and fix them up so I can get the joy of restoring something that was filthy into something I LOVE! It keeps my spending down too.

The most I spent was on the 07 Fair pony... she was $40. I can't remember if that was WITH shipping or without. I don't spend too much, especially now, b/c I'm wanting to save for other things. Like moving out, would be nice!!

I spent $40 on my fair exclusive and $25 on the comic con exclusive from last year. I really loved those two and I knew they'd be limited.

Otherwise, my rule is no more than $15 on a pony. Sure, there's many ponies I would like that cost way more than that! I'm pretty happy with what I have, though.. my collection is pretty nice. :)

$200....on my MIP G3 Rosey Posey :cheshire:

I think the most I've spent was $25 for a MIP G2 Spring many moons ago. I've spent $20 on a few ponies, though.
