The MLPTP has a long and rich history as the premier community for MLP fans and collectors. The mods and I are so happy to be able to provide everyone here with a safe place to buy, sell, trade, and celebrate your MLP collecting hobby, as well as our many games, contests, events, and other ways of interacting with all of you.

That said, running a website this large and maintaining MLPTP LLC comes at a considerable financial cost--one that we cannot bear alone.

Please bear in mind that these costs go up with every passing year.

How does the Fundraiser Work?

During the annual Fundraiser, MLPTP members will be invited to donate in $5 increments toward our massive site costs. For every $5 they donate, they will receive 1 entry into a list from which we will draw winners for approximately 50 different MLP prizes. Please check out the links at the top of this post to see how everything came together for any given past Fundraiser year and which prizes were offered.

With this plan, we have successfully supported the MLPTP for the past 4 years (since @MustBeJewel unexpectedly became the new owner).

How Can I Help?

Members are welcome to donate Fundraiser prizes at any time during the year. For every prize donated, they will receive 1 entry into the prize drawing during the Fundraiser.

Members are also welcome to donate via Paypal at any time during the year. For every $5 of donations made after January 1st and until the Fundraiser ends that year, they will receive 1 entry into the prize drawing during the Fundraiser:

Do I Get Something in Return?

In addition to the prize giveaway entries you receive for the Fundraiser for donating a prize or through Paypal, you will also receive a Supporter banner and a trophy on your profile for all to see:

Donations of $5 or more will receive a bronze pony trophy on their profile.

Donations of $25 or more will receive a silver pony trophy on their profile.

Donations of $50 or more will receive a gold pony trophy on their profile.

Donations of $100 or more will receive a rainbow pony trophy on their profile.


Trophies are cumulative and reflect the total you have ever donated!

What Do My Donations Help Pay For?

These are the various kinds of costs that we incur on a yearly basis:​

• Website hosting: Since we are growing, we have needed to upgrade to a new hosting service that will allow all the features that a growing website requires, such as increased storage and memory, automated backups, top notch tech support, and more.
  
  
• Web Developer services: In order to move to our new host and new hosting package, I needed to source out a qualified web developer to ensure everything goes smoothly and as we need it to.
  
  
• State-of-the-art forum base software: This requires an annual license for usage and support.
  
  
• Forum software add-ons: The chat box, awards software, trader feedback software, donation widget, and many other separate pieces that work behind the scenes to keep the MLPTP secure, functional, and spam-free all come with licenses and fees.
  
  
• The MLPTP is now an LLC! This new development will make moving forward much easier on a financial front, and will allow us to provide more for the community in the future. However, LLC's come with legal fees as well as yearly fees.
  
  
• New artwork and graphics services
  
  
• Prize shipping and packing materials: We are preparing to ship out more than 50 prizes in total this year, to destinations that may be national or international, and postage rates are going up all the time!

Fundraiser Terms & Conditions
​

• Entries to the fundraiser will CLOSE on [TBA 2024] at 11:59PM EST.
  
  
• All donations of any kind are final and non-refundable.
  
  
• 100% of proceeds go toward the cost of running the site.
  
  
• There is no guarantee that participants will be chosen for a prize.
  
  
• Winners will be chosen using Random.org. A third party will draw the first 3 winners, and a moderator or admin will draw the rest.
  
  
• Some prizes may be in gently used or used condition; not all prizes are brand new nor in mint condition.
  
  
• All prize donations from members must be received by the start of the Fundraiser [TBA 2024] to be included in the 2024 Fundraiser. Prizes that arrive after this date will be used for the 2025 Fundraiser, and the donor will receive entries for this year's (2024) Fundraiser.
  
  
• Donors may receive entries to the Fundraiser based on how many prize lots are donated, not necessarily based on every single item donated.
  
  
• If donated prizes are deemed too heavy to ship with Fundraiser funds or for any other reason are not eligible to be included in the Fundraiser (arrived broken, too large or heavy to ship, items restricted by international postal laws etc) they will be auctioned in the MLPTP's Auction House with 100% of proceeds benefitting the 2024 Fundraiser. Donors will still get entries for donating prizes.
  
  
• If there is a surplus of donated items, they may be saved for the next Fundraiser at the discretion of the admin team.
  
  
• All items will be shipped with a tracking number. Items valued over $50 will be insured. Prizes may arrive in multiple shipments depending on where they are shipping from.
  
  
• Forum donations of any kind do not serve to absolve, correct, or otherwise change the outcome for any behavior or actions (past, present, or future) on the part of the donor which go against the rules of the MLPTP, and cannot reverse warning points, suspensions, or bans. Likewise, forum donations do not make the donor entitled to any form of promotion, personal benefit, or special treatment at the MLPTP.
  
  
• All participants participate at their own risk and discretion.

• Participants:
  • You must provide the entire list of available prizes (located TBA 2024) put into order from your MOST DESIRED to LEAST DESIRED in order to be eligible for prize drawing. PM all information to @MustBeJewel.
    
    
  • You must provide your entire shipping address, including your full name, otherwise we will not be able to ship a prize to you and you will not be eligible for prize drawing. PM all information to @MustBeJewel.
    • Your list of preferred prizes and your full shipping address must be received by 11:59pm EST on July 14th 2023 in order to be eligible for prize drawing.
      
      
    • If your list is incomplete (ie: does not include all prizes listed) and your number is drawn, but the prizes on your incomplete list have already been spoken for, you will be issued a prize at random unless you specify otherwise. You may submit a partial list with the clause that if the prizes on that partial list are already claimed, that you want to pass on your win to the next randomly drawn number or specific MLPTP member.
      
      
    • If you submit an address but do not submit your list, you will be issued a prize at random.
      
      
    • If you wish to gift an entry to a friend, it must be included as a note with your Paypal payment.
      
      
    • If you do not submit your full shipping address, you will not be able to receive a prize if your number is drawn.
      
      
    • If you win a prize, your prize will be shipped to exactly the shipping address you supply. A full name and address is required for shipping purposes only.
      
      
    • If you win a prize and fail to retrieve your package from your PO box or otherwise disregard notices from the postal service to retrieve your package and it is returned to us, you will need to pay shipping to have it sent to you again. We will only be able re-send once.
      
      
    • It is your responsibility to check this thread for updates, as well as to check your private messages and emails for communications and updates about the fundraiser.
      
      
    • Email updates will be sent automatically to your registered MLPTP email address only. Please make sure this setting is up to date in your MLPTP profile.
      
      
    • For any MLPTP matters, please do not contact the mods or admin outside of the MLPTP forum.
      
      
    • By participating in the fundraiser, you agree to the above Terms & Conditions.
