I found this listing on ebay and was taken by surprise. I’ve never seen this happen before! What happened to poor cotton candy?!

My best guess was she was either left outside for a super long time or left by a hot window for years

Oh no! So sun fading I’m guessing? If that happened normally I’d be scared for sure. I keep all of my ponies in a dark closet on a shelf

She may have pink areas on her backside if she was on a window.
My bet is on chemicals, I knew of a bookshelf with ancient laquer yellowing ponies evenly like that.

My childhood ponies and lungs haven't forgotten.

I've UV faded G1s, but I'm not sure how G3s - especially the pearly ones, will handle fading.

Some scented ponies from various years will also brown.
g3 scented ponies will change colors?? I have some of those :(

I think it would have had to have been a very long time. The shade just reminds me of the kind of fade on crisp packets you’d find trapped in a bush for years
Likely, nicotine staining.

Depending on the base color, this can be UV faded after oxiclean cleaning.
I forgot that’s possible

I often wonder what condition my childhood ponies are like compared to those that were from households that didn’t have smoking family members

Awww! I honestly wonder where my childhood ponies are too. We donated them to my grandma’s friend’s granddaughter, but who knows if she still has them
