What are the cheapest / most common G1 ponies?

Alright, so I'm a G4 brushable collector at heart.... But finding this forum a few days ago and going through all the threads, wow, the G1 are so cute and charming! :love: I wish I had some left over from when I was little.


So, for those of you in the know - what ponies are the most cheap and easy to find? The ones you go "oh jeez, not another, I already have four of those I'm trying to get rid of"? (...if there is such a thing, since they're all vintage.)

I'm thinking of buying a few, just because they are very cute and would look darling with my G4s. :biggrin:
 
Probably what I see the most of in G1 are Sundance ( I have an army and didn't even try) and Cotton Candy seems pretty common. The white Bride pony seems plentiful as well. Probably Peachy though I don't have a nice one of her yet but I see her everywhere.

Ponies you can easily get under $5, I'm basing this off what's come the MOST and the cheapest with ponylots I've bought.

Cotton Candy (I feel she totally embodies "my little pony" she's a must have in my books!)

Baby firefly
Baby cotton candy

Thing is, many can be found inexpensively, I'd look through mylittlewiki or dreamvalley to get a list of ones you really like, then see how much those turn up on ebay and what they can sell for with a completed listing search. :D
 
Hmm, in the UK I would say its Peachy, Posey and Majesty that I seem to have multiples of (and you can buy for £1.00 on ebay).

Thanks for all the help, everyone! Cotton Candy is tempting, if only because she looks like the "first pony", at least of that size... And Sundance is adorable! I just saw her for $5 on eBay, and they gave her little ringlets in her tail. so cute!

Wow, that Dream Valley site is amazing! I had Mirror Mirror and Twinkle Dancer when I was little, I always thought Twinkle Dancer was a knock-off, since she had moving legs.
 
Good list! I also think G1 Apple Jack and G1 Bow tie are pretty common. Have fun re-collecting the G1s :) You should be able to find a lot for good prices
 
i see a lot of them around for under $10. most are under $5 even. just check out the "Looking to Sell" section
 
Peachy, Blossom and Sundance - those seem to be the top three that come through my store. I've sold a lot of them in garage sales, which actually turns out great because I can keep their numbers down and make little girls happy at the same time. :)

i always have a ton of parasols
and she just happens to be a beautiful pony! one of my faves!!

and strangely i have several multiples of dancing butterfly and sherbet
 
Thanks for all the info! I think I may definitely pick up a Sundance, I love her color scheme... And I'm very tempted to collect all of the G4 "mane 6" original inspiration ponies. :biggrin: Posey, Firefly, Sparkler, Twilight, Surprise, and...well, Applejack. Who is the same!

I didn't know that so many of them could be picked up for cheap!

i have a sundance in good condition if youre intrested is sell her for 3$ ans and shipping would probaly be another 3$ just let me know
 
Here in Holland Peachy, Cotton Candy, Blossom, Bow Tie, Majesty, (Baby) Cuddles, Baby Blossom, Kiss Curl are the most common I think. I 've found a lot of them, especially Peachy. Applejack, Lickety Split, Cherries Jubilee and Posey are also very easy to find.
 
Mimic and Rapunzel. They're so common, people are practically GIVING THEM AWAY! People just have piles and piles of those two. Just kidding haha.

In honesty, I'd probably say Sundance, Parasol, Bowtie, and I guess Firefly. Moondancer is up there too. I own a Firefly and a Parasol. I'm currently rehairing a Bowtie because the hair she had was unfixable, it was miscolored (weird orangle stripe) faded, and dirty.

Twilight is a little harder to find, I got her for an awesome price though. It'd be cool to own all the original Mane 6 ponies. That was actually the reason I wanted to get G1s.
 
Blossom! Ive gotten 2 blossom plushs and 2 blossom non flat foot. :unsure:
ive gotten 2 milky ways, 2 fireflys, 2 glorys, 2 moondancers, 2 seashells.
