So I watched the Steelers (we won - woooo!) then hightailed it to the mall to hit up Spirit Halloween before it closed. I went solo since Chad wasn't all about my mission today. I got there with about 10 minutes to spare - good timing for getting stuck in two different construction zones.

And I'm milling around the store, trying not to look like an oddball... So as soon as there were no employees or customers around, I plopped the girls down, snapped a few shots, threw everything back in my bag, and took off.

I wish that I'd been able to set up the shot in a funnier manner - a pony in each hand. *lol* They had this awesome zombie babies on a seesaw display, but it was right in front of the checkout counter. :(

Lol I went to the same store ! I brought my friend Sue though so everyone saw us taking the pictures lol

My original photo was outside of the store. But I needed stuff for my party so I went inside. I am glad I did
I found out that an old friend from highschool was working there!
We caught up a bit, and I told him what I was doing and he helped me take the photo.

I'm actually kind of doubting I can get a picture for this one.. :(

Halloween isn't a Danish tradition and.. *sighs*.. well I'll have to see what I can find later, maybe there'll be like a pumpkin display or something in the nearest bigger supermarket.

Nice pictures though, all of you :D Wow, when you decorate for something you really go all the way, heehee! *wants the Freddy figure so bad, Firefly!*

Spirit of Halloween told me NO PICTURES
..after I got mine ;p

and look...I see several people took pics there LOL

they should post it if they don't want pics

No luck yet, everyone is pushing Halloween out & getting ready for Chirstmas already.
*Shakes fist*

I had been to Target on Saturday and they had a couple neat Halloween statues set up, so I figured I'd see something similar at Wal-Mart right? WRONG. Their Halloween section was lame, but I found some cute bobble-headed candy dispensers that I used as props instead.

There are some fantastic pictures here though! LLB, I love the setup of the butler serving ponies for tea!!

That's why I didn't ask. *lol* I knew they'd say, "No." The reason I got for no pics at the local party supply store last year is that people will take pics of the costumes then make them instead of buying them.

Uh... if I really want to make the costume myself, I can look it up on the internet. I don't need to go to the store to take pics of it. But I'm not that skilled with the sewing machine anyway.

I had problems too; I live on a small island and we only have a general store. The owners aren't big decorators so what you see in the pic was it, boo!

I managed to get hubs to drive me to the nearest bigger town to check out the 3 super markets there (which in reality aren't the least super in any way, lol) as the conveniance stores here have nothing but the bare essentials - First two had nothing, absolutely zero, but they'd already put things out for Christmas inside out.. Oh if the bonus step had been about scary Christmas stuff, there was some HORRID lifesize garden gnomes :p

3rd shop we finally struck gold with a **tiny** display of Halloween tea light covers, so what you see in my picture is actually what there is :skull1: Better than no pic though! ;)

I love your picture though; I think it's beyond great - what a lovely little place, very romantic and charismatic <3

Thank you:) I love yours too, esp Pinkie as she looks a bit puzzled at the stuff above her:p

My sister had suggested taking one of the pony stores and decorating it, she was bummed when I told her it had to be a real store. It was a great idea anyway!

I can't believe some stores won't allow for photos.
What if you need to show granny your costume via iphone?!
...and I bet they didn't even have a good reason for it. Just repeat 'store policy' over and over... meh.

*edit* They're afraid you're going to make the costume yourself instead of buying it? Are they effing serious?!

Ash <3333 Most awesome horror hero ever!

Ahh... yes. Silly me, I always tend to switch those 2 around >_< It's Michael ofc ;p

Did you say they're animated/animatronical (whatever you call it).. dude, that's wicked cool!

Well, I'll have plenty of time to save up money seing as it prolly will be a another decade or two before we get to the American level of advanced Halloweeny-ness :2232:
Love your pics, Firefly!

Sorry guys, I didn't foresee so many problems with this!

I hope you were able to get some sneaky points, and if not, hope you can catch up in the next rounds!

I'm a little slow on scoring the last step, I hope you can forgive me, but I've got a few things thrown my way that were out of my hands. I'll try to score it tonight, and will try to get the bonus step scored tomorrow.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who had problems in the Spirits store... I went in and asked1st (stupid me), so when they told me no I left... and sent the man in! At least Will was a good sport about it though (and got an ok pic).

I loved seeing Halloween across the USA (and the world!!!) through everyone's pictures.

Sillybilly - in your pic I can see some long tailed glow in the dark bats on the bottom shelf - we have those same ones here (and I bought some!)! I guess China ships everywhere ^_~

Applejack_plays_Bass - what was in those little purple tins in your shop window?

Claire - no worries we know the hunt is all about challenges and being gutsy and stepping out of your comfort zone. I don't think anyone here is truly annoyed or anything, we're just stoked and shootin the breeze about our adventures in photo hunting!

LOL Kar, I guess they do :p I think the tea light covers and holders were the cutest - but then again, Danes look for any kind of excuse to put up candles and get cozy, so that's no surprise XD

Oh it's just a cultural thing, Claire, but that doesn't mean I wasn't enjoying it at all :p
You gotta make the best of what you got and I tried, with probably the smallest halloween display you guys will ever see :p

I got to do two pictures, then some dude came up and disturbed it all. I was kind of miffed and amused by the fact that the employee thought I had stolen the ponies, I'm like "Dude, you haven't retailed G3s in what, 3 months now, where could I have gotten these from?!". When he checked their storage (only to find I was right), I was still pointing out things to Sherlock Holmes: "Do you sell ponies with buzz cuts? Cut tails? "Ida" written underneath the hooves? I think not", LOL.

He didn't care one bit I was taking pictures inside the store though, lol, and it all sorted itself out in the end :D

Yeah - it's s'posed to be challenging and thrilling. Borderline breakin' the law and all that. ;)
