I'm not sure if anyone over here has been following the recent ebay auctions of ponies from Venezuela, but I purchased Cherries Jubilee... the first known variation of this kind! It appears that some other rare ponies such as the weird blue-green Lickety Split that popped up this past winter, which were previously labeled "unknown origins" or thought to be from Chile, are likely from Venezuela...
Venezuelan Cherries Jubilee arrived today! :allecto:
For future reference once the listing disappears from ebay, here is the original auction description:
"UP FOR ACTION A VINTAGE MY LITTLE PONY MADE IN VENEZUELA BY BISANTI IN THE MID 80´S
THE PONY HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED WITH, IT WAS PART OF A COLLECTION AND WAS DISPLAYED ONLY SO IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION, NOT SCRATCHED AT ALL, THE SYMBOLS AND EYES ARE IN PERFECT SHAPE.
I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH ABOUT VENEZUELAN PONIES AND NOW I KNOW THAT THEY CAN BE TOLD APART FOR HAVING A NOT SO GREAT EYE AND SYMBOL PAINT JOB , THEY HAVE ONLY 1 MARKING THAT READS “HASBRO†AND THE YEAR OF MANUFACTURE AND THE RUBBER THEY ARE MADE OF IS SORT OF TRANSLUCID, NOT A SOLID COLOR. I ALSO THINK THAT BISANTI USED THE CORRECT MOLD AND SYMBOLS FOR THE PONY BUT NOT THE COLOR."
I had her shipped express, and she arrived on my door step in 3 days! The package was apparently opened by Customs, and they popped off her head! Fortunately the neck seal wasn't broken the whole way around. She is truly in great condition, and I'm thrilled to have her in my collection.
Her tail appears to only be tied in a knot inside her body, with no washer. This could be a good thing, as far as rust is concerned!
Her eye paint is very similar to Colombians, as seen here with Colombian Bowtie. I would say that her body feels similar in squishiness to Colombians, but her hair is a nicer quality than any of the Colombians I've had in my hands.
I'd be happy to donate pictures to galleries, ect. if asked. *Please do not use my pictures on personal websites, ect. without my permission*
