Recently, it’s been tough to properly sun-fade my restores due to all the gloomy weather. To solve this, I sought out a prebuilt UV light chamber; turns out they’re often used to cure resin sculptures. The one I’ve bought is a Fungdo curing station, which includes a UV lamp and a turn table. Overall, it was a great investment and works much more efficiently than leaving them outside. Plus you have the added bonus of leaving it on throughout the night.

Here’s a look at the chamber itself as well as a peek inside the viewing window:

Here are the before and after photos; using 40 volume developer, Moondancer was left in the chamber for approximately 48 hours. I’m very pleased with the results and would highly recommend a UV station if you plan on getting into restoration! <3

Nice! I'd like to buy or build one at some point. I gotta give you props on your tiny tape cut outs, just looking at them seems painstaking LOL

Though I do suggest taking the tail off if possible to prevent the part closest to the butt getting faded
Generally, I’ll end up removing the head and tail during a restore, but this was one of the rare cases that didn’t require it. I’ve never had an instance where the hair had faded on me during sun-fading, though I’ll definitely keep that in mind if it’s possible!

dirty and gritty ponies are sent to the laser tag arena to atone for their crimes.

She looks great! Did you have to re-apply the developer at all during that time? I've noticed it dries up on my windowsill ponies after a day or so.
Hah, it does remind me of a laser tag arena now that you mention it! :lolpony:

I reapply roughly each morning, so in this case she had two full coats. I probably should mention when it dries, best practice is to reapply, though I assumed most were familiar enough with lightening overall. Honestly, you could reapply as often as you feel is needed; the peroxide breaks down the longer it’s exposed to UV, so for faster lighting and to be most effective, reapplying every 12 hours or so seems to be standard.

Very nice. I am very fortunate to live on a area with sun mostly year round but I do like the idea of spinning them round. ;)

I live in the states down south, so we have our fair share of heat and sunlight for sure! Naturally, I would have bad luck to get these bouts of stormy weather while restoring and I’m too impatient to wait for summer

It’s very amusing to watch her spin around, too :lolpony:
