What made you choose it? Got a story behind it?
I chose Leave a Whisper because one I wanted something pretty and unique and two I first heard the phrase "Leave a whisper and nothing more" in a fantastic fanfic and really loved it.

I always love hearing the stories behind usernames.

My mom originally joined this forum under the username hobomom, which is an old family joke - she listens to old country music, and dad refers to it as 'hobo music'. Thus hobomom was born.
Anyways, I was ten at the time, a bit too young to use a forum unsupervised. So she allowed me to terrorize the locals post on her account, signing my posts with my favorite pony's name (Mimic) to differentiate who was posting.

...Not that much differentiation was needed. I used more emoticons, punctuation, and capital letters in a single post than Mom does in a week, and I seemed to constantly be on a sugar high. I still cringe whenever my old posts are gravedug. e___e

Mom no longer uses the account, and I've considered changing my username to Mimic, but I feel like I'd confuse the whole community if I did.

Ology is base on my love of Archeology, Paleontology, Egyptology, History in general. I was in school for a time majoring in archeology and minoring in anthropology but was pretty much told to wake up and get a real degree that pays money. So I had to swap majors I regret it.

I was making a ponysnia one days and this cute purple pony was sitting there a friend added the cutie mark and glasses and I just was like Hello Ology. Thus she was born and thus my new Username.

On other Places I am know as Ecchokat. It has a background story to do with a Godzilla, star wars, and a never finished Fanfic me and a friend was writing in high school but I still like the name.

Lightning came from Final Fantasy 13's Lightning Claire Ferron, the hero of the game~

Final Fantasy is a classic fandom for me that will probably never leave my inspiration~

I googled Lightning and searched wiki's for name ideas and came across "LightningSilver" and decided on that, and adding "Light" again was... I have no idea what that was xD

But since then on my business cards I'm known as "LightningMana" and "LightningSilver-Mana" most other places other than here.

Mana is my fursona's name, Mana Lai Ayerus~ Mana came from the Nintendo Game Cube's "Dawn of Mana" series, and is also a general term for "Magic".

So essentially my online persona simply means "LightningSilver-Magic"

Lai Ayerus is from my spouse's novel he's written, and he came up with it for me and it means "Red Nova".

So my furry character is "Magic Red Nova" in translation

And it all ties together, because my fursona specializes in Lightning Magic, and has a lightning bolt horn that glows when focusing lightning magic~

(I've done some light RP with that concept, but I simply don't have the time or brain power to RP like that x.x)

So I think "LightningSilver-Mana" is a permanent stay~ it just combines all of my inspirations together.

Kallile came from a desire for something that sounded like a name, and the fact that I love Superman's Kryptonian name: Kal-el. I wanted a feminized version, and so after playing around with options Kallile was what I stuck with.

And, for all those curious, it's pronounced Kah-Lee-All. :winkpony:

I was trying to choose a gmail account a long time ago and all the cool dragon names were taken! Shadow Dragon, Obsidian dragon, lightning dragon. AT least I thought they were cool when I was a kid. Then I tried Marble Dragon and it wasn't taken. In fact, anywhere I go on the web it usually isn't taken. So I've stuck with it.

I picked the name pikapal for a Pokemon forum because I wanted a pikachu related name. Then a few months later I joined myspace and I used the name. Sometimes when pikapal is not available I use the name pikapal91746. It's an old zipcode of where I used to live.

Oh, wow, I have to go way back for this one.

My internet name is usually Lyralio.

The "Lyra" part came from Lyra Vulpictor, a Sonic fancharacter and persona I created waaaaay back in 2003, who by 2006 looked like this:
Sega_Lyra_Vulpictor_by_LyraVulpictor.png

The "Lio" part was from a failed attempt at creating a new internet nickname. I was thinking of changing my name to LioCoyote, and I did use it at least in one online game, and while it never stuck, I did like how "Lio" sounded. It reminded me of Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles and Lucario, my favorite turtle and Pokémon respectively.

So eventually I just mashed the two together and got Lyralio.

Fun fact: I pronounce "Lyra" differently in English ("Lai-ra") and Portuguese ("Lee-rah").

Moving on, around the time I joined the TP I was getting tired of the Lyralio nickname, and wanted to try something different. So I went with just "Lio", but, judging the MLP franchise's love of princesses, I figured it'd be interesting to offset the gender neutrality of the name by adding "Princess" to the mix. And thus PrincessLio was born!

If it was now, I'd probably call myself PrincessLyra instead, since it's the name I've been using the longest and the one I identify with the most. Buuuuut if I did that, I'd probably be creating a completely different image in people's heads whenever they read my nickname. I mean, how many of you just imagined Lyra Heartstrings with wings right now? ...Yup.

H1m3 comes from hime that is Japanese, means princess ( no I do not speak Japanese just picked some words while watching anime). I just wanted to add some number to the name so it would not be just too simple.. And why Princess then? Well I like to think that I'm princess and people call me hime-sama :p... juuuust kidding^^ It was random choice

Ok so I used to be on Internet forums as jlhgoddersutd which is my family nickname J for Jo which is me, L for Lee my hubby and H for Henry our son, godders is a nickname of our surname and utd - all together! Anyway I decided to change it as it looked a bit strange and didn't make sense to anyone except me! So I chose icecreamgirl as my all time favourite pony is Lickety Split hence the cutie mark, I like icecream themed things in general, I like eating the stuff and I live by the sea!! I went for the girl bit as I turned 40 last year but I still feel more like a girl than a woman or lady!

LadyoftheNight was a nickname I came up with a long time ago... long before I new its actual meaning. I don't personally associate it with its, er... "escort" connotations.

Towards the end of my teenage years, I decided that I wanted a username that was creative and different, that said something about me rather than about the things I liked (as my interests are constantly shifting and changing). I wanted something that sounded elegant and pretty, and I also like things that are dark and mysterious. Initially I used ladyblackbutterfly, which later shorted to just ladybutterfly. Then after a year or so, I felt that I wanted something a bit more mature. I've always loved anything to do with the night and darkness-related themes, including vampires and crime fiction, and used to always stay up until long past the dawn, so "ladyofthenight" just worked for me.

Thanks to Luna, this name now also works perfectly in a MLP context.

I chose princess bubbles because I love princess ponies and bubbles because of Derpy which is my favorite g4 character. But it was also because bubbles is one of my favorite g1 ponies. Not that great of a story behind it but ponies inspired me

To put it simply: school mascot + favorite sport = username.
I don't like my username as much as I used to, seeing as I am not as interested in fencing as I was when I joined, but I can't imagine being called anything else.
I still cringe whenever my old posts are gravedug. e___e
I cringe at my younger self too. I feel as if I'm a different person than I was three years ago.

I used to rescue tonnes and tonnes of bunnies at Easter time. Usually I'd have up to 40 at a time on the farm and I just loved them more than anything. I had quite a few who I could let out of their pens and they'd follow me around as I worked. My mom claimed they were my army of minions. evilbuunyfoofoo sort of grew out of that.

I also used to go by rockinghorse, bubba duck and lazerv. I've been on the internet since 1996, so I've outgrown several names.

I lurked here for a few weeks before joining and saw almost everyone had a ponysona. I came up with what my ponysona looked like and then figured out her name, which became my username. I did use Star Flare as the last name of the heroine of a short story I never finished years ago, but I didn't recall that until quite some time later. 'Star Flare' must have just been kicking around in my subconscious, waiting to be used.

My user name comes from one of my favorite Annette Himstedt dolls, "Tula." I own this doll and I adore her.

I was reading Warriors and saw that The Tribe Of Rushing Water had AWESOME names, like Brook Where Small Fish Swim and such. So I thought about my username which was supposed to be Sky That Gleams And Shines, but it was too long. Thus, my weird username was born.

You can still call me Sky though *pfft*
