Trying to find "Master" pony...

Hello all,

I have been searching for a pony my wife had as a child, which she called Master Pony. This is not the pony's real name, but one she nick-named it as a child. It was definitely a G1 pony, and I have some details of its characteristics. My mother-in-law states that it was lavender, with white hair, and a diaper (or panties?) with flowers. My wife swears it was blue, and not lavender. I found the "Fancy Pants" series, and thought I had identified the pony as "Baby Glider," however, both my wife and mother-in-law confirmed it was close, but not right. The main problems with it are the horn, and tuft of green hair in the mane (also, my wife says it is blue, and not lavender). My question to anyone reading this: "Do you know what pony I'm looking for?" Is there another series of G1 ponies that has diapers painted on them? I have looked at many collection websites, and have gone through all of the G1 ponies, but I haven't had any luck. Please help me find this pony!

Unfortunately, no. I showed my wife all of the ponies I could find in that series (Bows, Dots 'n Hearts, Starburst, Splashes, Glider, and Sunnybunch), and she said that none of them matched. I think that one is pretty close too, but the yellow hair is the main problem with that one.

I had no idea there were "fakies." I guess that opens things up a bit. I looked at the ones you linked, which were close, but I couldn't find one that fit the description. I will look into this a bit more.

Another clue: My wife seems to remember that it had furry hooves like we have seen on some of the big brother ponies. Now, this was a long time ago, and she may be confusing it with another pony she had. Were there any boy ponies (mlp of fakie) that had diapers?

Could it possibly be a Lanard Pony? They have a diaper baby I believe, but I couldn't find a picture to look at. She might know looking at the face. Lanard's have pretty distinctive faces.

It's super sweet of you to try to help her find Master Pony again. I love the name. She reigned supreme with an iron hoof of justice!

The closest thing I could find is another Fancy Pants baby:

This one has what looks like "fading pink" hair, so it's possible it was white by the time your wife came into possession of it.

For example, in this picture:

The only other thing I could suggest is that perhaps it was one of the baby ponies that came with a diaper, instead of one that had it painted on. In that case the only one that somewhat matches the description is NBBE Baby Cuddles, also with pink hair that may have faded over time.

It's hard to say with fakes, because they were produced by so many companies in so many different styles and colors. I'm not sure even those who collect fakies know of every color they've been made in. But I can tell you for sure that no Hasbro My Little Pony had both a painted diaper-like pattern AND had furry hooves.

Some of the baby ponies came with cloth diaper accessories, the first tooth babies came with white panties with stars on them.

I would suggest looking at Strawberry Reef where you can look at g1 ponies based on color:
G1 My Little Pony Identification

Other possibilites:

Baby blossom (Year 1) is lavendar with white hair and white flowers as her symbol. She came with a white cloth diaper accessory. She also was available as a mail order pony with a peralized body.

Baby Fifi (Year 3-first tooth baby pony) is blue with white hair and a pink streak in the mane. She came with white cloth panites with stars on them.

Peek a Boo baby ponies (Year 6) had two boy ponies with furry feet, but they don't seem to match the discription.

Baby Stripes (Year 7) is blue with white hair

Playtime Baby Brother Ponies (Year 7) are boys with furry feet, but they don't seem to match the description either.

Baby Clipper was a mail order boy pony. Blue with white hair, but no furry feet and no diaper.

The only other Fancy pants baby I can think of who wasn't included in the original set was the mail order Mommy and Baby Pony set, but the baby was magenta with pink hair.

I am not as familiar as others with ponies outside the US. If she grew up outside of the US there may be other options as well, but even then I don't think there has ever been a fancy pants boy pony.

With the Pony having 'feathers' on her feet, I agree she must be a fakie. While not complete, the following site has the most comprehensive listings of fakies I know. She might be able to look at each type and find Master Pony this way.

Well, it looks like they are settling with Baby Bows from the Fancy Pants series. I went over this entire series with them, but I guess the photo they looked at for Baby Bows originally wasn't good. Thank you, ladyofthenight, for the other pictures. Also, thank you to everyone else who helped! I really appreciate your kindness in taking a few minutes to help me look! Now I just need to find one to buy .
