i was watching old episodes of pony tales and noticed a little something that i think is sort of interesting. in the pic below take special note of Dazzleglow (middle), she has wings and much less noticably...A HORN! so, contrary to popular belife Princess Celestia is not the first. just saying. however, the doll of dazzleglow was simply a unicorn...no wings.odd yet interesting.

I always wondered why toys of that ponies lack wings. It's awesome find (I knew about it,just never had this stuff in high quality).
Now send it to bronies.

MustBeJewel, it is from episode 17 'up, up and away'

lol oh cartoon makers, you are so clever! "Quick, we want the Glow And Show ponies to appear to Patch, but she's in a balloon! What do we do!?"

"Uh.... JUST STICK WINGS ON ALL OF THEM" ^_^b

Problem solved!

Nice to see a unipeg that isn't an animation error, though Baby Surprise does look pretty cute with a horn :)
I like My Little Pony Tales ^.^ Thanks for posting the full episode Jewel!

I love this episode! I think Patch became one of my favorite Tales characters just because of it. :D

I still have to wonder why none of the Tales ponies were sold in the U.S.. I mean, since they went through this trouble to get the Glow 'n Shows showcased in the show! I think this and the Rockin' Beats' inclusion in the series gives us an accurate idea of when this series was pitched...

I think 'll have to tackle those gals as blind bag customs after I finish bon bon =)

What episode is that? I don't think I've ever seen it! :wow:

I do think you're right, if we don't count 80's animation errors :p

I was just about to refrence that old MLP arena conversation about the errors in animation and the horned Baby Surprize!

I'd like to check your facts on that, though.

I doubt it's the first pegacorn in cartoons EVER, but possibly the first of MLP cartoons. I'll fact-check for you ;3

Yes, I think about this everytime people mention Celestia being the "first alicorn" in MLP. The Pony Tales cartoon was released after the Glowing Magic Ponies and Rockin' Beat Ponies were already in the shops, so they altered them for the cartoon rather than vice versa. As the Ponyland of MLP Tales was portrayed as an "ordinary" place with no magic, the Glowing Magic ponies were the only ponies allowed to appear as anything other than Earth Ponies...as they were "magical ponies from across the rainbow" (as quoted from the UK Tales annual). Hence, Tunefull lost her horn when she appeared in the cartoon!

I always wish Tales hadn't been released so close to the end of the G1 line. There was so much potential for the series and a lot of good toys (Lancer, Teddy, Ace, Miss Hackney, the Schoolbus and Ice Cream Parlour, for instance) could have come out of it. Instead, even the main characters never got released in the states, the G1 toy line ended, the cartoon got cancelled after just one season, and they didn't bother to release anything more than the seven girls for the European market. Very, very sad.
