Ok, I've seen Non-pony related posts here, and no yelling was done, so I'll assume that I can post this here. Mods, please feel free to move it if you feel it unappropriate. Its Pony related, as they are horses.

I'm a big Breyer nut. I especially LOVE to customize them. Yes, more than MLP's. They're easier for me to customize, really, and I can let my imagination run wild.

There's a competition for Breyer horses (actually, they're Stone models this year) called the Tricked out Pony contest. Basically, they give you all the same horse (the same mold) and you can do whatever you want to it. You cannot steal ideas from anyone else, and you MUST retain at least HALF of the original horse.

They then take them to the Stone Jamboree in California (They used to take them to the WEst Coast Model Jamboree) where they will be judged. Then they put the top 10 from each category up on ebay (yes, ebay), and auction them off. 50% goes to the Hooved Animal Humane League, 25% to the organization who organized it, and 25% to the artist.

i really really have the urge to customize something now but i dont have any baits. of ponies or horses at the moment

Oh.My.Gawd. They are so beautiful I can't find a word to describe them. They're...they're just perfect. I love them both, and...just wow. I knew you were good but I hadn't really got a look at your work and... WOW, you're...you're... Aaack, I can't find a good word for that either.

^__^' Hehe, what I get for writing a nearly 2000 word reply to an RP, I go brainless. Anyway, I think they're absolutely WONDERFUL.

Maybe I'll get back and find the right words to describe it, but I doubt it. You and those...um...Tricked Out Ponies are just two...wow, to describe with words!
 
the wolf is really nice, i really liked the griffon too whomever made that one.
 
Okay, I guessed correctly for the Kirin.
I gotta say, I love the wolf, too!

Both of those are really well done- they must've taken quite a while to do- they look so awesome!
 
The wolf looks gorgeous. I'm into wolves too, and I think you got it just right. Excellent sculpting and painting.

Also a question, is it difficult to customise Breyer horses? I'm looking into the idea of making models of some of the horses I met at work this year, and making models of some of my Dungeons and Dragons characters.

For the horses, I know all I'd need to do is repaint with an airbrush, and that bit isn't difficult. However, for my Dungeons and Dragons models, I'm looking into building a centaur. Mainly, I want to know how easy/difficult it is to cut/modify the original horse model.

Once again, I'm a big fan of your wolf, it's beautiful. :)

I absolutely LOVE the wolf that you created. I am amazed at how you were able to turn the horse into such a gorgeous wolf. I am seriously interested in buying or trading for one of your wolf/horse creations.
Please let me know if you would be interested in selling/trading one to me.

As I said before, They put them up on ebay after teh convention, so keep your eyes open!

Dragonflitter- thanks! I hope I win too! That Centuar makes me nervous, but her torso is too long, so I might actually have a chance. Centaurs are way overdone though anyway ;P

Rocky- I think after everything is over, I just might hold a contest ^^ ooh, I better find some prizes o.o

Ahrian- I did a hippogryph last year ;P I still think theirs is impressive, but I think that 1. the front legs are too off, and too skinny. 2. She might have points taken off since a hippogryph placed last year. (This goes for the centaurs too. They encourage -new- ideas, not overdone ones.)

Pikacheck- I had just shy of 2 weeks to finish them both o_O Next year, I'm only doing one again o_O

adrilahan- Its difficult sometimes. You kind of have to read tutorials on them and figure your own way of doing things. or just do it, and if you mess up, so what, sell it on ebay ;P You don't need an airbrush (I don't have one), but it makes the paint look a lot smoother. Cutting INTO the model or removing parts of it is a lot of work. CArving hooves and ears takes practice and is a pain in the butt. Painting, is by far, the easiest part! I think they are both great. Although I have to admit that I only kenew which ones were yours becasue they had your name under them!!

Didn't your Hippogriff place 3rd last year??
