It would appear some of them don't actually practice their 'love and tolerance' mantra as much as some others do.
 
It's an April Fools joke I'm afraid. The part about them having to sell '3000 So Soft Rainbow Dashes and 10000 G3.5 Rainbow Dashes within 3 days' is the tip off.

I'm sorry for linking to the Transformers Wiki so many times, but so much of what I see happening here is just a retread of what the Transformers fandom have gone through that I just can't help it.

In other words, just chill out, there's no point in getting worked up over something like this. If they cause you grief, just stay away from them.

I left the Sonic community back in 2006 because of something like this - EVERYONE talked trash about EVERYTHING. Only then, I left the whole community, meaning I had nobody else on the big ol' web to yap about Sonic stuff anymore without being afraid they'd suddenly turn on the vitriol. You, on the other hand, have a wonderful community right here, with tons of people that like all gens, and that are supportive of one another. Unless out of nowhere this place becomes overrun by "OMG LOL YOU LIKE G1 YOU SUCK" people (which I don't see happening anytime soon, because that kind of talk would only get them banned anyway), just roll your eyes, turn away and go on with your life. It's really for the best.
 
I would like to point out that there were also some very nice comments made as well. This was obviously done for the fun of April Fools. The people running Equestria Daily don't seem to make these posts to be mean. They chose some very nice customs to feature. I'm pretty sure it's all in the meaning of harmless fun even if people commenting on that post and people here on this board aren't handling it as well as they could have.

Maybe some ponies need to watch the "Griffon the Brush Off" episode again to remind themselves how to be good sports.
 
Well yeah, bronydom has gotten a bit notorious for being full of special snowflakes who expect to receive love & tolerance without being so free in granting it to others. But people are going to have differing preferences; there doesn't have to be jihads just because someone's opinion differs. Besides, nothing's stopping anyone from airing their opinions over there instead of setting up opposing camps to further strengthen the "us vs them" atmosphere.

And by the way,is that typical for americans-solving problems by declaring them nonexistant?Us vs them exist,and it was not old community who started it.It's a fact.But neither on arena nor here people can't say a bad word about bronies,despite many of them badmouthing old gens and people who love them.

Mefista, nationality has nothing to do with this situation. The MLPTP (at least) is run by a combination of people from all over the world, and likewise, our members are from all different countries and cultures.

It is not a matter, either, of declaring anyone "non-existent." But by sinking to the level of those who chose to act maliciously or belligerently and insulting or defaming them the way the unfriendly ones do to us, we are no better than the individuals we complain about. That is why that kind of destructive attitude is not condoned here.

The MLPTP is not for fighting, for an "us vs. them" mentality, or for putting any group of people down. We are here together, as fans of My Little Pony. So it is not that we "can't say a bad word about them," it's that it isn't worth it to do so.

I love Friendship is Magic and being a brony, I love my brony friends, and the majority of the brony community is pretty awesome, (The music especially!) but I just hate how much the previous generations are treated as vile garbage. I can understand disliking newborn cuties, but the originals? Arggghh... They really should at least respect the first gen. That was the birth of many of the FiM characters that the bronies adore/worship today. Of course, I guess it's not really a "guy thing" to enjoy 80s girly cheesiness in all its glory. They really should try to give it a chance at least instead of just lashing out at something that isn't the same. All of the previous generation hate doesn't make me angry, just sad. If they can't accept the earlier ponies for what they are, they can at least ignore them at leave them be.

They see those generations as cutesy and girly with no appeal for them. It is part of the style but it is mostly for the cartoon network connection the appeal of the show. They have no appeal for them in the older shows. But the main part is the shows quirky appeal.

I don't mind bronies in general. It is nice to see something I have liked nearly all my life be loved by others. The problem starts but when ignorant comments pop up and others begin putting others down, they look pathetic and really childish. To sum it up it isn't really helping the overall appeal of their community.
 
Bronies are such loving, tolerant folk!





(It's still technically April 1, right? Little joke, little joke! It's cool to see older gens on ED, I wish they'd do it more often.)

I thought it was really cool of Equestria daily to sneak in some older generation education for their members on their day of HARMLESS fun. It isn't really their fault if not all their members know how to handle April Fools gracefully. Some seemed to enjoy the customs and maybe didn't realize they existed before. That April Fools post will probably inspire some FiM only fans to look into older generations and see what's out there. It may even bring new members to THIS forum. I really don't see why anyone here needs to feel bad or threatened by their post. It was in the spirit of the holiday and I don't see any sense of ill will on the part of the people running the site. Have a good laugh (or a groan, depending on how good you think the prank was) and move on to happier things. I hope everyone had a great April Fools day. :)
 
I don't think it was innocent, but meh.....that's what they found funny. I'm sure they wouldn't find everything funny that I find funny. I just choose to stay away from those sites. Why do something to make myself angry. lol
