Since I have a very small collection thus far and plan on adding lots bit by bit, I figure it’ll be better for me to make a single thread and add gradually as I get more ponies, rather than clutter up the board with individual threads.

Today I got Wind Whistler! Although I’d love to get the non-flocked UK version someday, that’s a bit harder to find, and I knew I had to have Wind Whistler in my collection pronto. She’s probably my favorite character from the show so far. I know she’s a lot of other people’s favorite pony too!
The flocking is in pretty decent condition, although there’s a fair amount of yellowish discoloration which wouldn’t come out with a light wash. Yuck! But it’s not too noticeable, and her hair is a lovely shade of pink—the photo doesn’t do it justice at all, it’s much pinker in person.

She came with these brushes—I know they’re not hers, any idea who they belong to? I’m assuming they’re MLP, but I could be wrong.

Nice herd! Wind Whistler looks soft and fuzzy those are MLP combs, could go to multiple ponies, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure Sundance came with a pink comb and the bear brush would've come with a baby pony but they're repeating accessories so could be different ponies and then there are the different shades of pink so sometimes that can make it hard to tell too. You might be able to track it down on MLP wiki though and see which possibilities there are.

More pony mail!

These ones were kinda rough haha

But they cleaned up pretty nicely for the most part! I added them to the pony shelf. A couple of the BBE’s do have rusty eyes but I kind of wanted one or two with that anyway haha.

I quite like the TAF ponies in this lot and the purple flutter pony. You don’t often see purple and green color schemes except with “evil” characters.
The drink and wet baby cracked me up. I didn’t realize the mechanism was quite so simple. Maybe the brand-new ones function differently, but with this one you literally just run water through the mouth and it comes out the other end XD

I’m not sure what to do with this one, though. There were two Scoops, and this one is in much rougher condition than the other, and has some pretty bad staining that’s not coming out. But she’s too darn cute to toss.

It’s a possibility for her—I’ve done custom dolls before but never a custom pony, that seems a bit more difficult. I think for now she’ll be a desk pony—she’s not nice enough for the collection shelf but she can keep me company anyway

I’m about to start on my first customs and hopefully it’s not as hard as it seems. Painting definitely seems like the hardest part. How did you clean off Pillow Talk, by the way? I don’t mean to derail the thread but I’m very impressed by your restoration work from what I can see of her on the shelf.

The thread doesn’t have a terribly specific focus so you’re not derailing at all, dw!
I actually just used warm water and scrubbing, and she cleaned up marvelously nicely. There’s barely any noticeable marks left on her. It’s funny, almost all of them seemed to have the same sort of wear and general griminess, but Scoops 2 is the only one who didn’t clean up well.
I’ve heard magic erasers can work nicely, and I tried a bit of that, but honestly I don’t notice a difference using that vs warm water and scrubbing. Maybe I’m using it wrong, I dunno. But I didn’t really need it for Pillow Talk, anyway.

It’s a Wonder Whims! They’re a pretty obscure and completely delightful toy line from the 80s, this one is called Feather. I believe there’s a Ghost of the Doll page on the line. She’s the only one I have so far, although someday I’d like to collect the whole set….they can get kinda pricey when they come with their pets, though.

I’m going to need to slow down on collecting for a bit after this (for budget reasons ;-; ), but here’s the latest batch! I haven’t cleaned or brushed them at all yet. All of the BBE’s except for Baby Shady are dupes, and Baby Shady has some terrible eye rust. Guess she should have worn her sunglasses more! /j

Poor thing. It looks like she has TERRIBLE allergies haha.
Overall though, they’re in pretty decent condition aside from a few other small flaws, and the pearlescent eye paint on the twinkle-eye is in excellent condition!
Now to figure out what to do with those BBE dupes…do I turn them into customs, or should I amass a BBE clone army? Hmm….

The newest collection additions! Waterfire, Lovewishes, Skywishes, and Round n Round. (Man, G3 really didn’t have the best names…)
Waterfire is the only non-childhood G3 pony that was on my wishlist, so I’m happy to have her! Now that I have her, I realize I kind of hate her pose…but her colors are gorgeous!

Lovewishes is a pony I’d never heard of or seen before buying this lot, but she might just be my new favorite G3 pony. Her color scheme is similar to Waterfire’s, but a cool- instead of warm-toned version. Her hair is in great condition too, even the tinsel! And her pose is so much better. Her cutie mark is pretty charming as well, I love that little detail of glitter coming from the opened envelope!

Skywishes and Round n Round are slightly less standout, but still fun, and Skywishes’ hair has such a lovely southern belle poofy curl to it. I think I might actually already own one of her? But this one is so cute I’ll have to keep her too.
