Sometimes Alphabittle seemed okay-ish to me but other times when he's propped up against the counter and posed more human-like he then loses pretty much any indication that he is a horse. He just looks like a creature, like a dinosaur/monster/humanoid.Don't like male ponies with facial hair, also I think with G5 they're trying to give them more human like heads which I'm not keen on either.
Argyle also looks very weird in close-ups. Once his four-legged horse body is out of frame it's like...what are you? Because your human face and lack of mane hairline definitely doesn't point to equine. The ponytail that makes especially obvious that the hairline is wrong does bother me a lot. This was a problem on a lot of ponies though, not just the boys.
I WANT to like them, I promise! And I do like them in most other ways. I just wish the designers did a bit more research on the animals they were creating. I know G4 made a lot of exceptions, but when you make the switch to CGI it becomes much more obvious and more leaning on uncanny valley.
