Target in Canada and Pony exclusives?

So, as some of you may know, last year Target bought up a bunch of Zellers stores across Canada. They are renovating some locations to be made into Target stores.

Now, what I am wondering is will we Canadians get the Target exclusive ponies now? Or do you think they will stay a US Target thing? I'd really love to be able to drive over to a Target here in Canada in less than an hour than make a 5 hour trip down to the nearest Target in the ol' US of A.

Has anybody else heard anything on this? I think if would be really unfair for them to withhold exclusives within their own chain just because it's technically a different country...

i was thinking the exact same thing. im pretty sure the rest of canada will get the exclusives but quebec will problay not. only because of the language law thing.

when toys r us had those 12 exclusive birthday g3 ponies, they were everywhere in canada but not quebec.

you won't have to wait for targets to go up (and they mosr likely will carry them, zellers carried target exlusives for star wars and ijoe, but not ponies) aaaanyways
my boyfriend did a costume gig for hasbro and loblaws
as of this summer, loblaw supercenters +the ones that carry toys) will be carrying target exclysive ponies! as per usual in canada we are a litte behind in thegame, but we will be getting all canterlot exclusives at loblaws.

its 100% fact, as he heard tgis from bith loblaw and hasbro (he is Jango Fett, was there trooping the event with 501 legion)

Well that's good news! Only, I think Loblaws is only back east... so it doesn't really help me, ha ha. But I don't mind waiting for the Targets to come.

Loblaws owns Superstore too so I'm sure they will be there too :)
 
Oh it does? Sweet! I guess I won't have to wait until next year for the exclusives, then!
 
I've noticed all the Zellers closing down and I just hope that Target opens soon so we can get the special releases too
 
I'll admit, I'm upset over Zellers having been bought out. It means the only place I like to buy shoes for the girl is not going to be around. But, as we don't have a target here, I am looking forward to checking it out once it's switched over. I have mixed feelings. LOL

I am excited about loblaws bringing in the exclusives though. My husband works for them, so I'll get a discount on them. YAY! LOL It's not a huge discount (amounts to basically the tax) but I'll take it. I was just hoping we'd have the wedding stuff here by this Summer as I wanted to purchase a playset or two for the girlie's birthday. Oh well.
 
I agree with you about Zellers being bought out, greengrrrl. I didn't like the idea of it, but it might be nice to get something new. Not to mention that the few times I've been to a Target it's been really nice.
 
i rather have them bought out by target then go completely bankrupt.

not all zellers are turning into targets, the ones in my area are doing half half

but it is exiting to think Canada could get some nice new things
 
The Zellers in my city is not changing at all, at least I don't think so because there have been no warnings and nothing has even begun to change over there. I was kind of hoping it would because it'd be fun to have something new and better over here, plus I don't really like Zellers prices...I don't find it as low as they say it is.
